Finally a confirmation.

ichigo is not human!

isshin was a captain!

He must continue to use is zanpaktou, no matter what -.-

Maybe a combination of theese two?

I got shivers this chapter, not out of surprise or shock (I'm sure everyone expected this), but the atmosphere.



I really like how Ichigo went to his "Big sis" for a cooldown after the conflict with his old man, it really makes our characters feel more human.  Sure he has powerups and fights big bad villains, but at the end of the day, he's just a teenager.  Also the fact that Ichigo forgot his badge there, it's kind of symbolic really... Ichigo leaves behind his "Shinigami" life and is now about to be introduced to the truth of his origins.  I really loved how this chapter was handled.



Now on to the real business... this flashback.  It was nice seeing a young Masaki, she resembles both Yuzu and Karin a bit.  Isshin is also confirmed as Captain or higher (no surprise there).  I can't wait to see this "Love story of destiny".



Let it all sink in, nice and slow, Kurosaki Ichigo.

no surprise there, everyone called it. I was just hoping it'd be something else. Maybe juha and her were hooked up and she ran away with isshin.

So did isshin lose his powers because he also used the FGT? He knew zangetsu wouldnt wanna teach ichigo the power, and his zanpakutou is called Engetsu. Aizens zanpakutou also ends in engetsu. Some kind of relation?

Flashback about to start, Masaki confirmed a quincy.

i think what juha bach meant that "my son born in darkness" (chapt 514)  is that he has awakened his quincy powers and has become one of them instead of being his actual son, it wouldn't make sense if ichigo was Juha bach's actual son with the short interaction they both had, Juha bach never mentioned about ichigo being his son. i believe he use that sentenced because ichigo discovered his quincy power while in the jail as a figure of speech. Son being a quincy and born in the darkness as finding his powers. Just like how Barack Obama's mom was from a Jewish religion and when he met with a Jewish priest he call Obama his "son".
