The main character is always the "special" character who is immune to everything... gets boring after a while lol.

Chapter was decent, I hope this arc will be on par with the soul society arc or better. That would be great.

Okay, this chapter had me going "HOLY SH*T" every couple of pages. I'm not even sure what the heck just happened, but it was awesome.

Also Ivan himself was sure Ichigo would get his bankai dissolved. The fact that it did not might be something unique to Ichigo since this arc is supposed to focus on why its all about ichigo too. It seemed like Ichigo overpowered or stopped the spell from working, the moment it started to affect the bits of his fullbring armor.

Well the remnants of his fullbring merged with his Shinigami powers definitely was getting damaged, but yea Ichigo is too powerful atm for it to have worked I assume otherwise maybe his Bankai would have been destroyed.

I thought initially Ichigo broke free due to hollow his hollow powers since hes used Kuroi GT but after re-reading I'm guessing it was due to Ichi breaking free like it was nothing after.

Interesting, well either it's because he's on a whole other level which well he always is lol or because as many have stated that 'he's special in some way,' that we have yet ot learn about.

Alright, what's the point of creating an ability that works against a character and that character shurgs it off like nothing?

To show how beast he is xD And for the reason i mention above i guess ;o

- That was one large arrow through the Lieutenant's body... Ivan and the black-masks are definately connected somehow. Still leaning towards the theory that they're on opposite teams.

- I liked the name of the chapter, "war declaration" in german, I think

.- Despite the wording of the chant... are we sure that Ivan tried to dispel Ichigo's powers and not STEAL them like Ginjo did? Perhaps his powers are needed for something and perhaps they don't trust Ichigo to use them in the right way.

I was going to lose it if he had succeeded in sealing up Ichigo's bankai. It would be just like them to give him his powers back and than to mess with them AGAIN. xD.

I doubt Zangetsu is gone, isn't that the thing that gives the sword its power. It wouldn't make sense that he can use his techniques still if the inner world is empty.

Zangetsu is personification o fit. For all intents and purposes after jinzen, Tensa, Ichigo, Hichigo and Zangetsu are ONE and the same.

Even if Zangetsu as being still existed in some form inside, after he used Mugetsu there should by all accounts be nothing left.

The very fact that he did not just "Regain" powers but got reinfused with them means that Zangetsu's personification would still be dead.

To make it clear all those personalities are a split personalities of Ichigo himself:

- Zangetsu is Ichigo's will to protect.

- Hichigo is Ichigo's instinct and animalistic repressed sides, as well as part of Zangetsu.

My question is what makes you so sure? At first they told him he couldn't regain his powers and they managed to get them back for him.

I don't quite agree with you on what Zangetsu is. Many times in the series they have made it clear inside the sword had a sentient being, basically a spirit. Yes Zangetsu is an embodiment just like all Zanpakuto.

If Zangetsu is gone, does that mean Ichigo's Zampakuto is nameless? Wouldn't his sword just be a Asauchi?

From what I know about Bankai is that the spirit within the sword comes out and takes form.

Anyway I think it's too early to tell he has only had his power back for a little while so we will see.

I don't think he tried to dispel or steal but completely destroy his Bankai since the fullbring parts were what looked like crumbling.

Correct me if I'm wrong tho ;oThat's not an easy thing to correct when I have no proof of my theory :P

I just thought that it was strange, why destroy a person's bankai when it's easier to just kill him from behind while he's eating bread in his room with his friends...

Haha yea that's true...did seem weird that...guess we'll find out soon...

The black getsuga tenshou is in no way related to the hollow side of Ichigo's power.

When he's in shikai his getsuga tenshou is blue and when he's in bankai it's black. It's not a sign or an indicator of hollow power.

Ichigo fused both his shinigami and hollow power together, Hollow Ichigo and Zangetsu both disappeared the moment he used the final Getsuga Tenshou.

I'd forgotten about the fusing lol but still since he has his powers back...I'd assume Zangetsu is back, his powers were just lying dormant deep inside of him weren't they?

Though yes Zangetsu and Hollow Ichi did fuse mhmm...

As for the Kuroi GT, I remember Ulqiorra referring to it being similar to the Espadas Cero Oscuras so I always thought his GT was linked to his hollow powers. His GT in Bankai were not always Black  in the beginning if I remember right. And the first time the Black GT was used was when his hollow took over in the Byakuya fight I believe.

Seems so long ago, guess I have to go re-read xD

No, I don't remember where but it was said or heavyly hinted that Ichigo's inner world is empty. Even if he got his shinigami power back the soul of his zanpakutou is still dead.

Ichigo's GT in bankai mode were always black and his GT in shikai mode were always blue. The reason why Ulq hinted anything is not because of GT itself (Which is just a burst of energy by the way) but how Ichigo's reiatsu felt too close to a hollow's.

Ah ok first time hearing that, interesting, damn so no Zangetsu anymore...Well I'll hope for a re-appearance anyways and Hichigo though the chances of that look really really small and unrealistic ._.

he was talking about his bankai. So maybe he is talking about bankais in general not specifically Ichigo's bankai.

Yeah seems like he was positive he could destroy 'any Bankai' from his reactions since he taunted Ichigo into using it.

Though the question is why go after him apart from the obvious reasons. Hope we find out next chapter xD

that Vandenreich is german word, so they are definitely Quincy, because tite kubo said, he is using german words for Quincy (source: wiki)

But you see, here's the catch.

Quincy is a teaching. Not a race. :) Anyone could theoretically BE quincy.

I am not sure about that, I think they are special humans

And I have a feeling Ishida will be fighting against his fellow quincy

"quincy" teaching is a teaching a clan of spiritually aware humans "learned" from the "race of magic hunters" and through centuries honed it into a bloodline.

Theoretically its something anyone could learn with sufficient amount of those who could teach it and sufficient amount of time. Its a religion/fighting art, akin to budhist monks and stuff.

- The fact that he can dispel bankai is intriguing on his origins. He tried. In the end Ichigo still had his bankai clothes and sword. Maybe Ichigo will be the only one who can resist the dispel.

- Vandenreich according to transcripts stands to "Invisible/Undiscovered Empire" or "Royal Empire". Interesting. We never actually learned on what the King's realm is actually called and Yamamoto did seem to react to the name.

No he didn't. When they told what they are called that was the last panel. there was no more drawings for him to react.

Yes, he specifically reacted to statement about five days, not the empire name.
