Mahou Sensei Negima! Chapter 302 Discussion

Great chapter. I think the battle was pretty good, especially when the other girls were forced out but still were able to help Negi. Nodoka with her tackle, Yunna with her guns, and Makie with her ribbon. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the fight but we all know Negi will win in the end. I notice that in most of the chapters, Akamatsu either leaves a cliffhanger or comedy scene at the end so that readers come back for more.

I don't know if this is Ken Akamatsu's idea or something that scanlators tend to do, but the lengthy wording in the dialogue has become OFFICIALY ridiouclous!  I mean like silly ridiculous.  More-so than ever as of this chapter.  I'm looking at the 2nd page of this chapter as I type this and I'm reading one of the techniques Negi quotes as:



"A multilayered, high-density, mandala-form, magical barrier... just like Fate's."



Really?!  Are you serious?!  No way in hell am I gonna say that 5 times fast!  *laughes*  How is it nobody else ever comments on the dialogue in these threads?!  Are you all immune to that or something?



Also, something just struck me after reading this chapter.  I've lately been watching Sekirei and currently watching the second season.  One of the characters of that series, Tsukiumi, the water sekirei vague reminded me of another character from an anime/manga, but I could never put my finger on who that could possibly be.  Then I realized, the Takane D. Goodman girl from Negima kind of reminds me of Tsukiumi when I think about.  Does anyone else who views both Negima and Sekirei think of that also?

Negi is going to a speed far faster than the eyes can follow and also I beleive he is at a level high enough to be able to block it without getting seriously injured, I mean it was said and implied many time that mage can 'wear' an armor of magic around their body when they fight.



Think of it as an RPG: if the attack hits, Negi loses HP based on the m.atk. the enemy has and the m.def. Negi's magia eberea bestows upon him. So not necesarily a letal hit altough a critical might hurt quite a bit.



Also consider that Negi is an electric type with levitate ability, so he practically has no weak points XD
