Negi is such a gigolo.

I was expecting more after the two week break...oh what am I kidding, it's Akamatsu. He probably went on holiday.

I am disapoint.

With a break I expected way more from this chapter, I hope that thing can get solved quickly so that we go into the 'save Asuna and Anya' subarc.

Staying at an arc for a long time has nothing wrong with it in itself. But like Kubo, when it start to go in circle then that's about where it goes wrong.

I'll agree that Kubo is going in circles, and unfortunately Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and a couple of others have fallen to the excessive, unnecessary, never-ending stories that plague them, and is making them more and more unpopular...

HOWEVER, even though it's not to the WSJ level (YET), Ken Akamatsu is quickly falling to the same formula.

How many people thought that we would be in chapter 288, and still NO Nagi appearance, still NO clarification to who Asuna really is and how she plays into the overall big picture.

The fact is that more and more mangaka no longer care about writing a good story, they are more interested in sales and a never ending story.

TO ALL MANGAKA: take a lesson from Arakawa (FMA) she has made a story that was never boring, never stuck to an arc for a very long time, and best of all she remained with the original story from start to finish. She should be an example for all mangaka.

However, alexcampos, I think you're exaggerating a little. Whilst we don't know where Nagi is yet, the current arc has revealed two things: 1. He's still alive, as Albireo's pactio proves. 2. He is currently missing because he became a fugitive for rescuing Arika from her execution.

Actually, between the current arc, and the bits we got before, we've got a rough sketch of Nagi's life, from age ten to age 25.

Oh yeah, that too.

I don't know who's who anymore... Hard to remember everyone's names by now with all this side tracking chapters. But if their Pactios will help in the fight in the future, then it's all good.

Hmm... after two weeks of waiting, this seems kinda weak. Oh well, it wasn't bad, I guess. What does interest me, though, is that Yuuna might actually become a very important character at the rate things are going.

I have a feeling that Iicho's question at Nekane about Mars is a very important one. Knowing Akamatsu, he doesn't give us this without some intensions.

I like this chapter, nice to see the "sport girls" in the spotlight for a chance.

Only thing that's bothering me is the the return of the "everybody loves the ten year old genius" syndrom. But this isn't the first time, so I'm not that surprised.

True. Whilst the Magic World arc certainly isn't at Bleach-level proportions yet, Akamatsu really needs to move this along, and soon. I mean, so far, every arc has given something to the overall story. The Kyoto arc resulted in Negi gaining leads as to the location of his father, the Demons arc brought about the return of Kotaro and gave Negi significant character development, the Mahorafest arc, on first look, brought us Albireo Imma and his proof that Negi is alive, and on retrospect actually brings us Chao foreshadowing the events of the current arc. And now, the Magic World arc needs to definitively lead us to the next plot development.

However, alexcampos, I think you're exaggerating a little. Whilst we don't know where Nagi is yet, the current arc has revealed two things: 1. He's still alive, as Albireo's pactio proves. 2. He is currently missing because he became a fugitive for rescuing Arika from her execution.

As for Asuna, this arc has shed plenty of light on her, how she was responsible for the events of Ostia, that she is really Arika's cousin, and that she had been travelling with Ala Rubra (although this had previously been hinted at in Asuna's dreams).

not to mention why were both of them Naked? :P

It's been like that from the beginning, whenever a magical being enters a dream, he or she is always naked.

Also, even though the chapter wasn't what I expected, I REALLY want to go forward with the story, the magic world arc has lasted too long.

Hopefully Ken Akamatsu can learn from *KUBO* not to stay at a single arc for more than 200 CHAPTERS!

Staying at an arc for a long time has nothing wrong with it in itself. But like Kubo, when it start to go in circle then that's about where it goes wrong.
