Mahou Sensei Negima! Chapter 232 Discussion

This chapter was good- Great, in fact- But I just can't shake off the feeling that this is turning into the typical shounen, with the whole practically-unbeatable-enemy routine...
The typical shounen is actualy the one with all fights take the shape of a tournament, being one-on-one with the other characters just observing. Even if Negima had a tournament in the middle of the festival, still doesn't match the description of "typical shounen" pretty well. Also I still have to see the "pretty easy to beat" enemy boss, be it in power or intelligence.

Heh, I laughed a bit when he said that. I was wondering if Akamatsu was poking fun at himself a little there.

I mean, c'mon, that guy defeated ala rubra in one shot!!!!! i have heard a theory that it is akira...who was somehow evil all along or something. *shrugs*
i hate waiting for chapters...
But that looked like a major cheap shot!
I mean, anyone would be caught off guard if suddenly some magic explosion shield hit them!
I wanna see Nagi fight with a hole in his chest! Just like Negi did.

Because I like Nagi's group of characters more than Negi & his class and prefer battle shonen to harem. I mean yeah, I probably would've got sick of straight action all the time but my comment was quick of cup remark about how much I liked the backstory, I didn't think it through.
It took me forever to get what you meant.I don't know Nagi strikes me as too generic a character. Fine in small doses, but I can't but help think a whole series based around him would be boring

That's fair, he probably wouldn't be the most interesting to follow for a prolonged period of time. But there are the other members of Ala Rubra, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get bored of Rakan or Albireo.
