D.Gray-man Chapter 223 Discussion

I want to complain about it being too short, but I just have to remember the worse pain during the days when nothing came out, and I didn't know if it ever would again.



But there's so much going on right now. Allen will obviously reach that mansion eventually. The Noah family will work on helping out the earl. Link and the 14th need to interact. And what the hell is going on with Bookman and Lavi????



Here's my prediction: the answers the Noah meeting will give are the same ones Allen's going to get at the mansion more or less. They will get revealed at the same time with panels switching between whoever is talking to Allen and the Noah family talking. Going back to the Noahs means we'll HAVE to learn about Lavi and Bookman since that's where we saw them last.



Obviously, I could be wrong. If the information the Noahs give us is vastly different from what Allen's going to learn at the mansion, or if Link and the 14th need to do stuff first, then you can throw out what I said out the window.

I can't see the end coming so soon!! There are so many things that need explanation... for example what is the Heart and who has the Heart... what is going on with Cross...what is happening inside the Order with all this different views and opinions... what happened to Road and what she is doing... what is going on with Lavi and Panda... what is Timcanppy importance...what is the true objective of the Millenium Earl (and the real objective of Nea)... how is their relationship... and the Earl said something about the evolution of akumas to level 4 having a differente meaning (and the exorcists dont know about it).... and they still need to defeat the akumas/noahs/earl



So for me, there are many things that are going to happen and get explained (I hope the ending of DGM doesn't look like the end of Bleach)... and the chapters are so short that I think the end is going to be on many years ahead



I think you're forgetting the mystery which is more in need of an explanation than any other!



That is: Can Allen's sword actually exorcise anything from anyone, and - as a corollary - if so, why didn't its ability work on Tyki Mikk?

Also, on a related note, what's going on with him and his apparent ailment?



Not really the most important mystery, just an unexplained event which have bugged me personally somewhat seeing as it seems to be of rather major significance yet isn't even touched upon later on. Although the attention paid later on to the scars left on Tyki could perhaps count as it being brought up, to an extent.

After watching the anime and rereding some chapters, I think the main Allen was the first bookman appreitance and probably a heart user too (and I think Johnny is also a heart user).



The Allen right now is a question, especialy that Apocryps want to free him from Allen....  so he wanted to free Allen from Red? Hmmm

Nea learning that timcampy has been destroyed probably means he will have to accept Link's help. Though I wonder what Link will do if (/when) Allen is back.



Tyki thought he has heard Mana's name before but I don't remember reading such a scene. Maybe it's just that I don't remember it, maybe it happened at some point and we don't know yet, or maybe the noah remembers Mana's name.

Nice chapter even as short as it was! So probably next time Allen will come back, or at least he'll try.

Forgot that Tim was destroyed so the reminder was useful, and i hope we'll see him again.

Yeah. Hoshino's health isn't the best. But hopefully she can still do better than what Kubo did with Bleach. Overall, her story seems better and more detailed than his. And her pacing seems better.



But yes. I did hear in one of the many recent interviews, Hoshino stated that the manga was not close to being finished. At least another 10 years really, imo. because we get 4 chapters a year. If she can keep this up, 10 years will give 40 chapters. And she may start making them longer again. 222 and 223 were short, but seems a lot was going on. She was supervising Hallow. She was managing her Insta account, and she's now closing it down because she admitted it was distracting and stressing. She's working on the fan books, plus 222 had to be cut for a volume limit I think.



So if her life calms down a bit -with Hallow coming to an end, and her health is still ok, we may go back to some long chapters.



But I am not picky. If we get any chapter from Hoshino, I am good. Naturally I would love the longer ones to get more info before the next break. But a short chapter is better than NO chapters, especially when I came into DGM before it went into its 3 year coma.

Discarab, you may actually be onto something. O_O I don't agree with the point about Allen being previous Bookman apprentice, the one the Noahs mentione Bookman had before Lavi - that's what you meant, right? I'm very sure that that Apprentice is dead.



But I agree with all other points. I'll post my thoughts and reasoning later on, today afternoon/evening, as I'm busy rn. :)
