'Cause I'm really curious. :)
Rumiko Takahashi says hi.
The gender of the author has little to do with the genre of the manga. And while there are a number of female fans of DGM and shounen manga in general, the fact that it was published by Shounen Jump for the past several years is fact enough that the main target audience is male. I doubt a main character being gay would go over well.
Oh,sh--! I hope that didn't come across as mocking! That "just curious" bit was meant to mean "cause I'm too lazy to check every shounen series that has a female manga-ka" ;_; (and how could I forget about FMA?! *oh noes*)

FMA (not only the best shounen series ever, but also the best MANGA ever), KHR, Pandora Hearts (now matter what your opinion is on Gil/Oz, it's still shounen xD), Nabari no Ou (if I'm not mistaken...), Inuyasha, DGM of course, Ichigo 100%, Zombie-Loan (also DearS), TRC, Terra e..., Samurai Deeper Kyo... too lazy to find more.
Can I dare to say that, for me, the slash-y and you-can-clearly-see-that-is-has-a-female-author ones like Nabari or Pandora(which I haven't seen yet XD) don't actually come in that kind of category? XD I mean, they do, but, not in that way.... I hope you get what I'm trying to say ....
