I gave it a 10/10 because it was my very first manga as a kid, and thanks to Dragon Ball I got introduced to this world which became a big part of my life. I’m almost 30 years old and still read mangas and watch anime, and I have only to thank Dragon Ball for this. The serie may not hold up to my childhood memories, it’s still a very fun and entertaining manga! If it were my first time reading this, I’d probably given it a 7/10.

what an incredible journey, similar to other replies i also started reading this because of a videogame (Dragon Ball Fighterz) and i'm glad i did. some of the scenes had me jumping around in my room of excitement. Piccolo has to be my favourite character.

Now that i finished, i must start going to the gym again and gaining strength.

In my opinion in general, the manga was better the animation!!!!

I was hoping that Akira Toryama could do a better end for this spectacular story, 'cause the actual ending is a bit lame, but as he said sometime, he doesn't want to know anything about Dragonball anymore.

But well, it was an awesome manga, and the anime version too, full of many epic moments and it will be one of the best mangas ever created, and of course one of my favorites.

Despite how terrible the last was it ended perfectly even better than expected

Phew, this cleared some of my childhood's curiosities. I only played the game and never got to watch the anime as a child, so I didn't know what Frieza, Cell, or Buu were actually like. There are some more characters that I didn't get to find in the manga like Cooler or Broly, so it seems like they're anime original, but I guess I won't bother to watch them lmao. Anyway, I can't deny that the whole manga was pretty fun.

First of all, the Kanzenban (which I didn't read) had additional pages added to it, that included Goku giving Uub the Flying Nimbus and Vegeta vowing to defeat Kakarot one day. Either way, I really love this shot, it's the kind of iconic nostalgic ending shot that the original chapter lacked, so those additions were definitely for the best.

The ending of Dragon Ball has always been pretty meh to me. It makes sense to return to the tournament since Dragon Ball spent so much time in the Budokai competitions (which is not a complaint) and the Buu Saga began with one that turned nasty so having a more peaceful one at the end is fitting to highlight the contrast. Pan brings back memories of Kid Goku making jokes out of confident big opponents, and I loved Vegeta just destroying that one guy before his match-up even happened. And considering Goku's been trying to pass the Earth's hero torch off since the Cell Games, ending with him finding Uub makes sense but it's not very fulfilling, at least not without those additional pages. I'm also pretty upset that we spent so much time building up the relationship between Gohan and Videl, only to barely spend any time with them once they get together.

As for the series as a whole, I love Dragon Ball. I will always love Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z is the series of my childhood. Outside of maybe One Piece, I don't think there exists any other media franchise I've spent more time with than Dragon Ball, from all the show, movies, all the videos, all the toy playing and getting in character, to the abridged, to all the discussions about it, and finally after way too long, the original manga.

Dragon Ball is a very fun, quick, and consistent read. I didn't really like chapter one and there were certain stretches where I wasn't really feeling it but overall, it was very enjoyable. Very simplistic yes, but it usually understood dramatic stakes very well, there were some good characters arcs throughout, great in the case of Vegeta, a lot of fun dynamics and jokes throughout, and several really well-thought and well-crafted battles.

I really liked this manga. 10/10. I actually thought the ending was fantastic. And I loved seeing everyone again (8-man and others from Dragonball, and Android 17 especially). I'd have liked to see Lunch again at some point after she disappeared, but oh well, guess Toriyama just got sick of her. She was probably my favorite character.
