Bankara-san ga Tooru Chapter Discussion

was it just me or did anyone have flashbacks to samurai deeper kyo?... guy stuck in a huge ice wall?... maybe that was on purpose or not, we'll probably never know... o.O

Anyways, I liked it, too much writing though (I get distracted easily) but a nice one shot, would be more interesting and a bit more easier to follow if the story got improved if it was serialized

Of course some individuals are going to like it, but the majority of people that do are fans of Gintama. Stop being so straightforward, and learn to think.

Maybe you should learn to think? Fandom just ensures that they will check a certain work because it is of an author who's former work they liked. Hell, I have seen more fans being more critical because they are fans then less critical.

People like something you don't. Live with it.

Yeah, and you would be surprised how many people will say they liked their work, even if they didn't, only because they read the authors previous work and they liked it. Also noone here bashed on it, so the rest of your comment is just based on past experiences of different work, which in this case doesn't mean jack shit. Once again, learn to think.

Also, ReaperEXE, your post made absolutely no sense so i can't reply to it.

It was funny and yet meaningful simultaneously. Good stuff.

Pretty wordy... but hey I liked it nonetheless.

This was really bad. You people are just being fanboyish because of Gintama. Sigh.

The quoted statement is wrong. I never watched or read Gintama yet I like it.

It's like saying everyone that liked Naruto is going to like Bench...

If one likes the structure of Gintama, why shouldn't he like this? I read Gintama for the random comedy and both this oneshot and 13 combine them with action very well.

Sure, the structure is the same (thanks < llamaben > for the explanation, Shinpachi like characters are described as tsukkomi or serious/straight guys btw) but this is exactly why Gintama fans are the ones that will like it. It's got nothing to do with straightforwardness.

If you didn't like it say you didn't and stop calling us fanboys. Or straightforward. You're the one who didn't even say why he didn't like it.

I like it too, despite never having read Gintama. Guess I'm in the minority *shrugs* It makes me want to go pick up Gintama though, since 2chers have been calling this a rehash of Gintama so if I like this I guess I'll like Gintama :)

Anyway, I thought it was better than Bench, but one big peeve I had with it was how damn long it was. Not the page length, but how he was cramming so much into that 50 pages that it became sooo wordy. I was going to read it raw but I saw how many words there were and decided to wait for a scanlation...

I guess that was okay, especially since I did not have any expectations coming into this one-shot.

The story was rather dismal in my opinion with the setting feeling very uninspired.

Since people are comparing the style of humour to "Gintama", which I have yet to read or watch, I don't suppose I will be a huge fan of that.

The whole Captain Marvel / Shazam power-up reference was neat.

even with all the amount of lines I was still interested. Although it took forever to finish reading it and actually understanding....
