Lol, I love how the signs on the final page all say something about Gintama ending. But what a great final chapter! As expected, Shouyou-sensei sacrificed himself to stop the Alltana overflow, but that final moment with him and Gintoki was so good. Although the first half was more on the intense side, I'm glad the series ended off with the shenanigans we'd expect from this series. I love how every character got a proper closure (well, minus a certain Joui patroit) and everyone got a chance to say something. Most final chapters just show a panel of every character, but Gintama gave a chance for everyone to get used as a joke. Plus it felt lengthy too, thanks to some HxH-level of dialogue-heaviness. I actually wasn't expecting Kamui to get some focus too, so that was nice to see. And Sorachi be trolling with Kondo and Otae's relationship again, lol. Although it wasn't explicitly explained, but I guess that child that came out of the Altana was of Takasugi's remains (and technically Oboro's too, I guess).
Actually thought that Gintama completed recreating history and Edo actually became Tokyo. But it seems like the Yorozuya shall still go on! But damn, it's hard to take in the fact that this series is finally over. Rarely does a long-running series end this perfectly, and I'm glad that Gintama was able to not lose any steam during its final sprint towards the finish line. Gintama will always be dear to me because it was responsible for changing and shaping me to the person I am now, and I'll always be grateful to Sorachi-sensei for that. But it's time for that Gorilla to take a rest XD
Also, Yamazaki deserves a volume cover, so him and his 108 personalities should take over the final volume's cover.
