Gintama Chapter 666 Discussion

                        Welp, this chapter sure expressed the idea of what a human is.



Creatures that fight with their own weaknesses. Quite an interesting logic imo.

Utsuro has every right to hate the ones who tortured him, but he can't just hate the human race for that.

What a pity.. The third of the 'Naraku Three' was treated like not such a big deal, at least 2/3 chapter of fight against the team-up of Kagura & Shinpachi would have been interesting. By the way I'm not sure how to feel about Utsuro's fear, I mean.. From Farewell Shinsengumi was treated like God and now for only a numeric disadvantage or for some resistance by the humans is scared. I don't know, for now I'm not buying it.



By the way, Takasugi and the others will arrive before the end of the war? No sign of them.

I really like Utsuro's subtle interaction with Nobume, because he sees her as a fellow destroyer of humanity. I remember him referring to her as  "a crow that had its wings clipped" in the Farewell Shinsengumi Arc. She's unreasonable from his perspective because she was supposed to be a crow that feeds on the corpses of humans. And yet that crow chose to rebel against her weaknesses and upbringing.



The irony is, the man who instigated those humane feelings in her was none other than himself. He was temporarily her master both as a curse on humanity (Utsuro), and a savior of sorts (Shoyo)

Well, we're really reaching the end of the series. Everyone from Kabuki-cho are helping along with the fight and giving their all. We also get a bit of Nobume in this chapter too. Hopefully the Shinsengumi can join in later on and the old Jouishishi land on Earth and help in the fight. Next chapters should be pretty hype. I hope Utsuro's change of heart isn't as sudden as it seems. We'll need a bit more development and buildup on this if Sorachi wants to make Utsuro's change more compelling.

I hope sorachi handles utsuro's development properly because it seems to be quite instantaneously.

666 The Beasts Number is up.

Man.. this is really bad..Sorachi is downgrading Gintoki into a tolerable Erza Scarlet. Did even Kamui, with his regenerative abilities, manage to get back up and fight after getting stabbed in the abdomen?  I'm just as confused about the feelings BS as Utsuro is... Gintama usually doesn't resort to this type of nonsense so I'm really disappointed.



Interesting that Nobume joined, yet the other students are making no appearance. I hope this signals her joining the Yorozuya. Late as that may be, it makes for a nice epilogue.



And yeah, I almost forgot to mention how Utsuro losing his mind now is so out of place lol. I did like the morality of the chapter though.

Everyone from Kabuki-cho is coming to help.
