At last, the Yato affair (which, on Kamui's side, was more of a miss than a hit) is over, and now we can move over to what this arc is all about: the fucking Disciples!

Takasugi da GOAT stating he's gonna pay back with interest made me mark out, but I absolutely lost it with the panel of Oboro standing atop the broken house. That dialogue between them was excellent. Liked the touch Sorachi put in there, with Oboro's speech bubble of removing Utsuro's obstacles, on the panel with Takasugi telling the Kiheitai to leave, removing his own obstacles.

The backstory was both sublime & depressing; Utsuro's further characterisation was delightful, but it's damn saddening knowing Oboro could've been sempai to those three, especially with that sombre expression on the final page.

Relieved to see there's no blood on Takasugi's end, so it's just a question of whether or not Utsuro's blood will run out, and seeing as the blade pierced the jugular, it's probably gonna happen.

Top ten chapter of this arc, easily.

Finally more backstory about Oboro, how he was saved and taken into Naraku by Utsuro, and how he trained under him, he was so cute.

In present he takes on Takasugi 1v1 and looks like he takes him down by stabbing him right in the head with that dagger but he also suffered a neck cut. I'm guessing he'll survive due to immortality unless his head got cut off.

Great chapter much better then some of Kamui bullshit. pfft to each their own. Kamui's moments were one of the best foor me and his backstory along with his family was executed greatly. Personally I never cared about Oboro/Utsuro/Takasugi boringness.

Takasugi falling mkes me laugh lol how many times in a row..

This chapter was amazing. I don't understand how you could consider this boring.

Best chapter in a while along with the last chapter. idk, personally i see this chapter the same as many other chapters. The only thing worries about me in this chapter is Sadaharu and Umibozu and how they'll get out of this. lol

I don't get it. We had confirmation that Utsuro became Shouyo after meeting Oboro, that the school was named after the way Oboro and Shouyou met under the pine tree, Takasugi knew that Utsuro was alive but Shouyou is dead. The awesome fight with Oboro's creative moves. The art was phenomenal this chapter. Oboro's backstory was suitably traumatising. 10/10 chapter in my opinion. well, Oboro is a tank, but not as much as the Yato tribe lol

Please elaborate to me what do I have to understand about his mommy issues?

Really? His mommy issues? is that all your accusing him of?

Yeah kamui is a moma's boy, whats wrong with that? Whats wrong with loving ones parents in such a strong manner? And are we gonna forget that he was just a kid then?

Loving his mom dearly as he did made him weak, we all have our weaknesses, and just because his sister was mentally strong enough to be there for their mother doesn't mean he should too. People are different. Why cant you understand that? Maybe im not explaining it fully but if thats the reason why ur hating this chapter so much then you clearly don't understand the meaning of bonds between family members.

Its not that he loves his parents he's just obsessed with his mom. His reasons to kill Umi and Kagura are just retarded, he's just a little kid stuck in grown up body, a crybaby as Kagura calls him, he hasn't matured a day since then. He's just lucky he's Yato so he was gifted with strength and endurance otherwise with that behavior he'd be dead a long time ago. Umibozu is also at fault you know, as he was the most responsible of the family. Easy for you to judge. I don't really blame Kamui for hating his father for being not enough responsible as the dad (even Umibozu himself had admitted that). There's nothing wrong with him being too overprotective of his mom plus it is weird that she told Kamui she wanted to die, but told Kagura she'd want to go to Earth once she got better. Kamui never hated Kagura and there were moments he hesitated to hit her/or he never wanted to fight her to begin with. Sure, Kagura's not at fault Kamui was beating her up, but it was too painful for him to see his own failures through her as she resembles her with both her looks and voice. Basically Kamui blamed himself and his dad simultaneously for not having been able to save the family, because Umibozu didn't teach Kamui about the strength to protect the family.

P.S. Kamui has finally met his redemption thanks to Kagura, so he is aces. :D

Loved the chapter. And I dont see how anyone could not love everything that's happened during this wonderful arc. Besides maybe sakamoto and gintoki's battles against their respective generals earlier in the arc (Katsura's was perfection though).

I mean seriously, we get planetary travel, huge world building and setup, some great comedy (bansai's finger lasers XD), tons of characters backstorys, kaguras entire family story, tons of fights everywhere including the long awaited gintoki vs kamui battle and jouei 4 team up, and now we are getting takasugi vs oboro and shoko sonjiku's origins!!! Can you get any more hype!?

In short, whiners, stop bitching, gorilla is perfect and a better writer than you'll ever be. 5/5 chapter.

Backstory was decent but the cliffhanger felt a bit rushed.

The other 3 joui rebels got 3 chapter fights earlier in the arc, I'm sure Takasugi will get his here, I doubt it's over. Oboro' backstory isn't finished yet either.

This chapter was perfect for the change in setting. Ofcourse Soarchi wouldn't let any character stay undeveloped. I'm so interested in the upcoming chapters :)

We're finally done with all the Kamui stuff, and back to the old Joui again! I'm so happy Sorachi gave a backstory for Oboro. The best thing about this chapter is how Oboro contrasts with Gintoki; how they both worshiped the same person for different causes, how both learned from the same person, and how Utsuro was a father-like figure for Oboro, just like how Shoyo was to Gintoki. Gintoki and Oboro are similar in many ways, yet both went on different paths.

5/5
