Gintama Chapter 573 Discussion

Not sure if I want kamui  turning into a good guy so they can all happily fight the common ennemy. dunno, I was used to be suprised by gintama but this just feel so cliché. it sure is HYPE ,but fangirl mode aside, Im not quite sure about the turning of the events.

Personally I'm worried about Kamui, since Kagura saw him and he looks so mysterious, serious and/or......sad. Maybe it's because he's the only one feeling lonely (due to his true-Yato acting, because Kagura-chan had stated that those, who live by killing/instincts etc. get lonely) and he doesn't have any true loyal friends (Abuto? yea right!), just a family, who wants to kill him (especially that stupid old baldie of a 'father'). I hope that stupid Gorilla won't kill him off and I hope he will be ok and make friends too, so everybody would respect him like Takasugi.



I actually see this happening, you know. First Sugi and now Kamui. They're both popular characters and..like he himself said in one of his chapters about Jump rivals, making rivals/enemies into companions and fighting together against a new enemy is what boosts popularity even more and is a staple of Jump. Like Vegeta in Dragon Ball and countless others.



Kamui is really popular, so I do see him turning into a good guy and fighting alongside Kagura against Utsuro or whoever.



If he's gonna kill off a Yato, it's probably Umibouzu. Kamui may be popular, but not that much, especially compared to Takasugi (I'm not even gonna mention the main cast in general), since Gorachi doesn't really care about him that much and it really angers me.

True, Gintama is a shounen-manga, so I doubt any of the Yato family members will die, since at least Kagura wishes for her family reunion.



I'm pretty sure Kamui has always been in like the top 5 of characters in the popularity polls. Last time, he was even number 3, which was higher than Shinsuke.



Don't know how he'll fair with the newest popularity poll as I think Shinsuke's gonna jump up quite a lot of spots now thanks to the SA and current arc. But he'll probably be in the top 5 again together with Gintoki, Mayo, Sadist and Sugi.



Even if Gorilla doesn't really care about Kamui, he must definitely be aware of his popularity.



I do wonder about Shinsuke, the real Takasugi died when he was 28, but I don't know; how much does Sorachi really use of these characters's past? He actually used a poem written by the real Takasugi on the title page of this chapter. And he uses some other traits from the real people for his characters as well.



Maybe he just uses what he feels like? If he'd follow history, he'd have to kill off Shinsuke before the story ends. But on the other hand, Sakamoto should have been killed by the Shinsengumi already and Kondou should have been dead as well if he follows it like that.



But this is still Gintama, so it's hard to say what will happen : D Though, killing characters like Kamui and Sugi would create way too much anger in the fanbase, I think, Sorachi should know this. I doubt any of those popular characters will die, since Takasugi has reformed and returned to his team and Kagura wants to save Kamui and regain with her family once again. Speaking about popularity, yes, Takasugi most definitely make to the top-5 (or even top-3 and he's always been in the top-5 and not lower), but Kamui.....I feel that he won't be in the top-5 since he's a rare character and still lacks both character development and a backstory (and sadly Kagura and Shinpachi are also underrated in such polls being the main characters) in general and don't forget about Zura, he'll also be in top-5, thanks to the recent arcs.

That was epic. They finally reunite again and they did it in most badass way

Takasugi exchanges his weapon with gin and saves Shinpachi, that was a precious moment

Still feel bad for sakamoto cause he cant wield sword anymore.

I love the four joui reunion *hyped* .

Gintama IS GODLY !!! I don't know how to describe it otherwise. These last 3 arcs are INSANE. I can't wait to see Oboro, chopped to pieces. Gintoki and Takasugi fighting together, Sakamoto and Katsura join in. The legendary 4 are BACK. Utsuro will have a hard time.

Wow. The reunion. I'm almost crying at seeing this. So beautiful~

Knowing Gintoki, that was probably sarcasm.

Now I don't know about y'all, but if at least 2 of them don't drop dead in this confrontation with Utsuro and Oboro, a lot of fans will call bullshit.



Also I still remember the promise from Benizakura arc when Gin and Katsura said they'll cut Takasugi down, so we'll see about that as well.
