What I like about Blame is its concepts of future, how the "netsphere" and humanity works under it, it's like multiple dimension collapsed and connected via somekind of artifical networks, reality stay true to the nature mixed up with lateral.
It is incredible that the world we live in more and more become like what Nihei envisioned.
This manga leaves so much to the imagination that I found astonishing how high everyone rates it. I guess that's one of the reasons it is called a cult classic.
Funny enough there are so many questions that will most likely never going to be answered, since not only Blame 2 does not explain anything, but the extensive FAQ/Monologue that Nihei put in the artbook barely says something. It feels more like bare theories.
6/10. Great art and interesting world with a very bland story and repetitive "arcs". I doubt this will work well as an anime, but maybe we get a decent adaptation someday.
Finally finished! Blame is one of those things where you need to reread the past volumes in order to understand what's happening.
In fact, I Look back when the girl protecting Level 9 Cibo was revealed to be Sanakan. Honestly I didn't expected her since the story seems to move quickly and I thought she was just a new character.
If you read back some of the volumes. You would notice the Administration were already eyeing on Killy at the first few volumes. The Downward cross symbol and all.
I like some of the theories here. I think Mori is indeed Sanakan or at least some of her memories and genes intact. Cibo and Sanakan's netgene is probably what gave birth to that new "kid".
Anyways, Definitely an amazing run. I do feel that the ending was a little rush. Especially when Killy was just killing High Level Safe Guards left and right at the end.
Just hope the movies will indeed adapt the whole thing. Just do it Polygon Pictures!
