I'm pretty sure they were referring to America as a nation, not as a place.  The government collapsed/blew up dramatically/some such thing.  I expect America is also 'gone' as an international player; they probably aren't going to interact much with those who are overseas for a while, so as far as Europeans/Asians are concerned, they've disappeared.

Too much is happening too fast, IMO. Also, a lot has been left unclear. What about those vampires that the gang encountered 100 some odd chapters ago? Also, is Gantz going to be published once a month? Because if so, this last arc could take a few years. I don't see why it takes the author so long to draw it, I mean he cheats anyway (No disrespect - one of the best parts about Gantz is the art), but I just wish it could be weekly.

The planes moving about was kinda hard to see what was happening. I thought they were just going haywire and then suddenly I see a ship with similar technology/design as the Gantz things.



In the end, did only the American army become crippled and destroyed, with a couple cities damaged, or was everything totally wiped out? It seems like it's the first option for me :S

This chapter was pretty good.  Hopefully we get some nice action in the following chapters, its long overdue.
