The first 5/5 after a long time for me.Larcade was only a demon created by Zeref.August is the true son of Mavis and Zeref.Also the Gildarts and Cana vs August was pretty good.August didn't dissapoint as a Spriggan at least unlike the others.

Apparently that´s not true anymore. The kissing scene wasn´t all they did. After all both were affected by Larcade´s sex magic.

Stuff got kinky. Mavis wasn´t dead, she just passed out due to exhaustion, from having too much fun. Jokes aside it´s obvious that Mashima never thought of that plottwist. He just invented Larcade, had the idea of making him a sex mage and came up with that plottwist inbetween. There was no buildup and it barely can make sense. It´s just there for the sake of a plottwist and  some forced drama to drive a point home.

August actually being Mavis's son, didn't see that coming o.O

Hope August isn't down after just that.

And I kinda think that people don't really get what August's magic is all about. He's not the typical "I beat you with your own moves" copy cat.

His ability copies and negates most magic that is used against him. That means that for one, it's a great defensive tool. Also, the copied magic gets added to his "collection", and since he is quite old that means (as it has been said before) that he has by now probably mastered most of the magic in the world.

Also the chapter showed us that the claims of some people that August can only fight people with the same magic that they use is wrong. He used Jellal's meteor spell against Gildarts, and if that isn't proof enough then please remember how he used a shield spell to save Ajeel from Laxus blast, neither of which use barriers.



All in all i think it is a fitting (and quite broken) ability for the King of Magic, not only did it allow him to master more magic than anyone else over time, it also aids him in case that some kind of magic that he still hasn't seen is used by negating it and adding it to his arsenal, thus making him even stronger.



And by the way, Lucy is not a bad matchup for August. Sure, he can't copy her summoning of the spirits, but he can still copy the magic of the spirits themselves. Gildarts was just using Lucy as an example of how August can't emulate holder-type magic without the item, just like Lucy can't summon spirits without her keys.

hmmm, didn't see that coming o_o. So Natsu is actually August's uncle. Wonder how old he is. Must be weird seeming older than your parents but not actually being.



He seemed annoying at first but I felt pretty bad for Larcade this chapter again...

That was actually a fantastic twist involving August. I was completely floored quite honestly...I didn't see him actually being Mavis' and Zeref's son and Larcade just being another demon from the books of Zeref. Man that ending made this the best chapter in weeks if not months.

Mashima is lucky his fans have no expectations.

He can literally shit anything into his fanbase's mouth and they swallow it with pride.



Also, I like how Mashima tried to clean up the loli sex by having Precht say "That's not the issue, she's a full grown woman" when talking about Zervis having sex.

it's so bad Mashima writing turned out to be. THere was a time I looked forward to reading this manga.

decent chapter for that plot twist alone...

This chapter was so pointless, no1 knew no1 cares and it made and makes no difference what a big waste of time.

First off its fiction. Secondly...so is Mavis just never supposed to have had a family or settle down for the rest of existence just because her body was immortal and un-aging? She was mentally 24 years old at the time, even if her body physically wasn't.

Best chapter in months.



This seems a lot better than Irene's story. I just hope Hiro won't screw up this one. I'd be ok with 2-3 more chapters of August (or even more, if they want to use him against Acknologia) if they make him properly interact with Mavis and/or with Zeref somehow, and he actually contributes to the story, not just die in a sh*tty way.



For example Mavis could give a bit of love to her son, who could help in killing Zeref and Acknologia(love/nakama power, lol). Or Mavis gets killed by August while trying to convince him. I can see many good outcome. It's up to Hiro though.
