That's one of the reason why I was never enthralled by Fairy Tail. Mashima is decent in terms of choregraphy - although he heavily rests on his laurels - but when it comes to impact and paneling it's atrociously bland. Strategy being almost always an afterthought doesn't help.



Since August in the only Spriggan Twelve  left it's hard not to sigh thinking how disappointing they were, be it in power or personality. Mashima is even worse at writing villains than he is at writing main characters.

Decent chapter. 4/5. Also August was a nice guy hope he suddenly does not become evil out of nowhere just so we can see how op gildarts is.



The guy never looked evil, I'm guessing he's taunting to see him getting as strong as possible, either because he feels it'll be his last fast before Acnologia kills them all, or he's trying to power up Gildarts for the following fight.

I didn´t mean to say, that you thought of  Strategy to be a necessity. What I intended to convey was, that I considered it the weakest part of your argument, paneling on the other hand the strongest one  and proceeded to explain how better authors utilize other tricks to hide their weaknesses.

Lol look at some of the FT-tards thinking that Gildarts is going to beat August when he gets upset,First off no other FT character is dying and Maybe even Makarov isn't completely dead so Cana is safe unless hiro would like to pull off some more death BS which is acceptable to the FT-tards but actual readers will complain about it again... Second No one in FT should have been able to beat any of the Spriggan 12 in the first place so August(The Strongest of the Spriggan) getting beat by Gildarts(No matter how angry he is) would be complete BS.
