@ixarising:Eh, i still get the impression they could quickly fodderize FT without using too much mana with Irene being country-level and weaker than August, but it doesn't matter as Hiro hasn't thought this far.

If they could the Spriggan wouldn't have lost in the first place.

Well either way Irene is busy extracting the Fairy Heart. We know that the Spriggan are actually fighting, so the Spriggan aren't actually doing nothing. I'd say it's more to Zeref planning something.

As for Irene being country level, i'd say it's more accurate to say that she was slowly spreading her magic throughout the land rather than she herself expending such a huge amount of magic at a time.

I know this is kinda off topic, but I really hope Mashima hasn't forgotten about the whole Gray killing Frosch thing

Agreed, that's still one of the most interesting plotlines that I hope isn't just dropped. As for this chapter, it was kinda meh but I like the fact Gildarts is back, hope to see him get a real fight.

It's gotten so bad even the manga itself is trying damage control.  By the way, if the Historias are established as being weaker, then what does that say about the Historias of vastly weaker people knocking around their opponents?

@ixarising:Eh, i doubt they care much. But even then, they could still do a lot of casting like launching sniper style attacks for instance.

They should care though cause right now Irene is extracting the Fairy Heart out of Mavis. The soldiers holding them back now means Irene has more time to extract it out.

and they say one piece is similar FT, lol. Pftt. There are so many generic one sided shonen cliche's in this manga its just downright pathetic. I am not sure why i continue to read this, hoping that the story will get better. Nope, we pulled an edo tensei out of our ass and revive all of the spriggan 12 that just fought, just to prolong this ridiculous war. Have gildarts come back with no explanation or reasoning behind why he was absent for so long. Great writing there hiro.

Completely destroyed what would of been a great dramatic death. Also God serena, a character that was build up to be one of the strongest power house characters in the series pretty much, ends up being nothing but fodder in the end. I have to say hiro mashima tries and thats fine, but he really needs help in keeping things consistent to what he writes, he says one thing or shows one thing in an early part of the manga, but doesn't really follow through it or even contradicts certain things.

I am sure most can explain this better then i can, i am kind on no sleep currently but i think you get the gist of it.

Chill that was my bad. Seen some said it, didn't bother to check the source, so my bad.

Sorry if that came off as rude, but it´s just uncommon for you to defend FT to this extend and this rumor is a red flag to me. It´s the most overused excue of  the fandom to justify this arc , but it´s wrong to begin with and even it was true, the Editor´s mistake wouldn´t excuse it´s terrible execution in comparision to the  recourses Mashima Sensei has been given. 8 of the Spriggans have been outright awful, the pacing of the Arc is terrible due to consistent sidetracking and instead of respecting his most anticipated most buildup villain of the story and give him a proper arc with plentyful  screentime, he brings him down by surrounding him with an army of clowns.

This arc moves towards iredeemable status depending on the execution of Zeref which I still have hopes for, but the Spriggans can rightfully considered garbage tier villains, without maybe the 4 "main ones".

I think this arc is just as bad as the GMG arc, but with this chapter, and just this chapter, I thought it was OKAY, because I wasn't expecting that much out of Serena, well dead Serena, because it was either like this or Neinheart would've gotten taken out and 3 of them would be gone already, plus its obvious that the historias are not as strong as the living (well when they were alive). That was why I seemed like I was deffending this chapter... my standarts probably lowered too much. Anyway this arc overall, is bad/average, it can get a decent ending if we just erase the non important spriggans... if August, Irene, Larcade and Invel (to some extend, since he seems like a secretary of some sort...) get defeated like the rest or don't put a good fight, we're looking at the worst arc of this series, again it can still 'redeem' itself, I'd say chapter 500 will be a turn of events... or so I hope.

come on people.. neinhart was the only spriggan who acted as a spriggan. gildarts, laxus, jellal, erza and kagura all went through an opponent cuz of him.

Neinhart was one of the worst. Those people were only troubled by him because they were already injured.

Jellal and Kagura weren't really injured. So is Gray, Lyon, Meredy & Juvia.

What does it change? Jellal curbstomped Neinhart. Kagura one-shotted Simon. Gray and Lyon were only held back emotionally otherwise they would've dealt with Ur easily. Laxus, Erza and Wendy were heavily injured from their previous fights. Meredy and Juvia is the only debatable case.

Neinhart is one of the weakest Spriggans. If you have a strong will and are in  (which most of the good guys in this manga do), you can deal with his Historia's pretty easily.
