If anything, END now has even more hype and Gray even less reason for his asspull-filled angsty revenge.  In fact Gray is no different than Mard - projecting his delusions onto something unrelated.

then we see Zeref saying Igneel went easy on END through some lovey dovey bullshit.



The only aspull filled angsty edgy revenge is Natsu's over Acnologia given how Igneel never entrusted Igneel to avenge him. Natsu is just being deluded thinking he can even win lol.



Trusting your father doesn't make you delusional. END can still be evil, which is why Igneel sealed his ass.



Gray's reasons to go after END is very solid

1)END can still be evil given the encounter with Igneel

2)Trusting your father.

3)History with demons from a tragic standpoint.

4)Magic destined to slay END type demons

5)Current foreshadowing. It would be fucking silly as fuck if his bout with END didn't occur with all of the hints and dialogues thrown in two+arcs.

This is like.. the best chapter of Fairy Tail I ever read story-wise. I actually can't believe they pieced everything so well together, and the small foreshadowing that actually lead to this.
