I don't understand the problem here. Erza would have been dead if Bisca didn't fire the Jupiter Cannon at Azir. So I don't see why some people are acting like she won the battle by herself. Me either it just western fandom being asses again since some forget more than likely Shouen heroes aren't going to die really I wouldn't mind Jelall coming in and saving Erza. Erza hated in the west more than Japan same with Jelall.

lol how the hell did nobody get his weakness before this? :(

Send in an elite team of water and air guys and ajeel's done for.

no bruh. It's not just like that. Yes. Erza was on par with Ajeel at first (the wind sword and the Neptune sword, She can neglect every sand)  but when the sand world magic came, her power was  drained. So nah. It's not just they need an elite water and air mages to beat ajeel. BECAUSE HE IS A GOD.

I like how this chapter was done. Bisca nailing Ajeel with Jupiter due to Erza's light as a guide was nice. I'm especially glad that Erza's Morning Star armor didn't just magically gift her the ability to defeat Ajeel in her dire situation.

Looks like one's down now.

Anyway Lucy's father having business in the west sure is fishy~It would involve an interesting twist, but Layla is one of the big mysteries of the story, she´s the Lucy equivalent to Igneel and even though we saw him we learned barely anything about him or his backstory, leaving him a mystery.

She´s one of the things I cannot predict for shit. Knowing Hiro the twist could be that Lucy and Layla are one and the same from different timelines.

We are 42 chapters into the time skip, people assume it´s the final arc because Zeref is involved, but like I said this arc has a long way to go.Technically it started with 436 and Zeref´s flashback, we had alot of exposition, but dialogue means no fightning. Hiro does a good job of pacing it currently. This arc can go for 100+ chapters focusing on the Spriggans alone from whom we have yet to see 5, hinting at stuff left and right and opening new questions.

Hiro wasn´t that wrong when he said that he may write FT for another 400+ chapters during Tartarus, people gotta cool down their expectations, for all that matters this could be just a giant cocktease.

Catched up again with FT.

I have to admit I could be impressed by the hype around this arc, but since it's Mashima i'm confident all the so called [b}"sprigan 12" will go down as easily[/b] as all the foes FT encountered so far.

will come back at the end of the arc to watch the result ...

I wouldn´t say easily, we always get to see some members injured and the winning ones get pushed to their boundries. The stupid part comes from the pacing and the powerlevel inconsistensies.

1. Usual shounen fight. Protagonist and enemie go toe to toe one powers up but the fight somewhat continues equally or someone new subistitutes/assists the weaker guy.

A typical Fairy Tail fight in comparision. Fight starts, one chapter at maximum it´s  equal footing. One powers up and absolutely dominates the other one.

All of sudden the enemie powers up (this isn´t even my final form) beats the everliving shit out of the Fairy Tail member brings him to the brink of annihilation.

Fairy Tail member claims to have nothing left (no trump, no Jutsu, no Bankai, no secret move with x reporcussions).

Remembers his friends yells a speech stands up and jumps after having all his bones broken onehits the enemie who regenerated all of his wounds and technically should be at 100% health, smiles everyone is happy.

Exception: Lucy fights where she quarrels half of the fight with the enemie getting stripped and whanot doing goofy stuff during a life or death situation ending up getting rescued by someone or pulling a new mode/powerup to win because her spirits are utter garbage.

Gray has as many fights as Erza but didn't see people complain about his fights..

Gray fights had plenty of complaints.

The annoying and toxic gray fanbois always jump to defend him.

Well of course Miss Mary Sue wins. Because she has armor and weapon for every situation and if not then she wins because she's erza...

Gods this manga would be so much better without her.

But one of the best arc would not be with out her

Tower of heaven

But that was when Erza was still allowed to have flaws, be a character or lose fights.

I do share the overall thoughts that this chapter wasn´t good. Gave it a 3 because it wasn´t good, it was ok, but people react to it like it´s the same shit all over again, which isn´t entirely true.

Now to the bolded part. Realize, this is Fairy Tail, go into it with the lowest of expectations. Hiro Mashima has a history with overhyping everything.

He overhyped Avatar, before that before that he overyped Tartaros and before that he overhyped the Baliam alliance. The Oracion seis used to be a big deal.

Since Tartaros no decent enemie has appeared yet, but even Tartaros had fodder characters. Characters that were labelled nonetheless "demons".Was the bunny chick threatening or Jackal?Jackal who killed whole cities was fodderized by Lucy!Still by the end we got to see Igneel and Mard Geer was taken out by teamplay required a big effort and behaved threatening throughout the arc.

It´s Hiros formula, even back in Rave, he always includes a joke character for the villains elite. Oracion seis had wallys brother, Grimoire Heart had fat guy and Ajeel is this arcs comic relief topdog.

I do realise Hiro's formula enough to bore me down and it almost made me drop the series 3months ago, BUT for some reason, this arc looks more serious and a lot more interesting than anything ever.

We always get enemies hyped, it's not only Hiro's but almost every shounem manga, it's like a law, but this time the enemies actually look promising for several reasons, one is the fact that they're directly leaded by Zeref himself, that alone makes it look like you deserve more respect than anything.

The villain group also looks more promising since it's not only them hyping themselves but for the Spriggans to be hyped by Zeref and the 3Kings of Ishigar, that's not something that should be taken light.

I'm gonna try to explain the way I saw Tartaros, for me they were no different that Jellal or GH, everyone is after Zeref, Zeref is the answer to everything and everyone should search for him, that drama got long gone and it was boring as hell, it's like a child searching for their parents for me and then Tartaros treat to wipe MAGIC of the ENTIRE WORLD, but amazingly enough FT are the only ones worried about this, funny huh.

Anyway the Tartaros arc for me was never something good, hell, I barely remember what happened there and I didn't even bother to worry about Avatar, from the very beginning of that arc, most of us knew it was just a light-arc, like a filler, I don't think many people cared about that one.

Just like a lot of people here, I don't know how to react to this,

On one hand Erza won a fight without Nakama bullshit, which is a HUGE plus.

On the other hand not only Azir was already defeated but Erza by herself actually managed to hit him pretty hard.

It had a bullshit moment like, Jupiter cannon hitting Azir but not Erza when he was holding her by his arm, and Jupiter blast is huge, it should've been enough to destroy the entire ship + the 2 of them, BUT I guess we should take it, better this than the Nakama BS.

Also I would love if Hiro actually makes everyone to realize that the Spriggans are actually on a different level, like when Erza saw the sandstorm through the entire city and realised Azir level, that was a cool moment for me.

Now it would be even better if even after all that Azir is still not defeated, but I doubt that.

If Ajeel doesn't stand back up next chapter I'm gonna be so disappointed. These guys were hyped up like no tomorrow and they're still going down rather easily. I have issues believing this is the final arc.

I doubt that's the end of Ajeel. He pretty much was only beaten because he got shot by the Jupiter cannon. For the sake of the plot though, they had to get him out of the way. I'm pretty sure the next two chapters will change things up and the Fairy Tail team is going to be pushed to the brink.

i wonder if the fight scene between luffy and crocodile inspired the char ajeel.
