No dragon slayers have have always had enhanced senses (smell, touch/feel, taste, hearing, and sight) it's just that usually in the series the one most showcased is smell and Cobra has the best hearing and can even hear thoughts. Try to think like this dragon slayers have the senses of dragons.

a lot of people overestimating erzas position as guild master. she didnt even ask to be GM its literally a filler spot until they get makarov back like macao when they were on tenrou. it also wouldnt make sense to leave her behind when they KNOW how dangerous this situation is so they need all the strength they can get. obvious outcome but overall good chapter
