Fairy Tail Chapter 439 Discussion

Well,if they know about Lumen Historie, someone leaked information. The rat was probably either Precht or Ivan. Still,we don't know everything that happened in Mavis's life nor do we know the history of Abaless or whatever it's name will be. Maybe Mavis interacted with them before it became a "military run " empire.

Also, don't be delirious. Fairy tail is ending. Well,I do admit I thought Tartarus was either the semifinal or the one before that since I didn't know how Mashima could create an enemy that surpasses Tartarus besides E.N.D,Acnologia and Zeref. Well,an empire from another continent that has one time and half the number of legal guilds in Ishgar and only failed it's previous invasion because of deterrants Etherion and Face, which now are down, is quite efficient.

But well, after arcs like Sirious Island, the magic games and Tartarus, there is no way this is the middle of the manga or something like that. This is clearly the last third or so of the manga. Still,if Mashima isn't careful, this arc is gonna drag just like the magic games. At any rate,I think this arc will have 60-80 chapters.

Plus, now that I think about it,I remember reading in another forum a page from the tower of heaven arc and another from sirious island arc. The first one was Simon explaining Trinity Raven's notoriety...the second one was lahar explaining why Bluenote Stinger was a behemoth. They both mentioned a war with an western country. Maybe this is it?

Also,I have a question. Was Avatar really dealt with? Fairy tail didn't destroy it's main branch did it? This reminds me of fire emblem awakening...

FUCK,this is the game Mashima mentioned that shared his ideas for the endgame of fairy tail. After a war against a country that was known for it's dark cults, the protagonists of that game went to war against an expansive western empire across the sea that wanted the sacred treasure of the kingdom of the protagonists...and then they went to war against the cult they thought had been crippled. The bastards used the war as a distraction to continue their plans unopposed while the protagonists were away. Then they battled against the being  the cult worshiped.

The " country that was known for it's dark cults" stands for Avatar, despite it being not a country,it has a military comparable to one. The "expansive western empire across the sea who schemed to steal the sacred tresure of the protagonist's kingdom" stands for Albaless. The sacred treasure stands for Lumen Historie. "The being the cult worshiped" stands for Zeref. There are many discrepancies, like Acnologia. If Avatar worshiped him, less so,ironically.

Fun fact:The western empire from that game knew the plans of the cult. The invasion and attempts to steal the treasure were intended to stop them. Maybe Alvaless intends to use Lumen Historie to get rid of Zeref,Acnologia and E.N.D?

Gave this chapter a 5/5 because of it´s promise, the one thing Hiro has to do now is not drop the ball.

The continents actually werre mentioned on several occasions and I´d recomment people to read Fairy Tail Zero and Ice trail since they do reference the continents in those stories Gildarts is labelled as the strongest mage in the eastern continent while he fights on the western continent.

Apparently there´s not much of a difference in culture besides that slavery is accepted on the western continent. My asssumption is that besides the fight for Makarov there will be another clash of ideals.

According to the Wiki Zeref was cursed on the western continent.

Before all the people scream, that´s totally like HxH and dark continent, does seriously no one see the resemblence of Zeref and Hoheneim? After all those revelations it screams Full Metal Alchemist for me. Btw I´m not implying it´s a ripoff. I just say Zerefs story is very similar to Hohenheims.

Here is a prediction of who the main bad guy is of this arc, when Mavis choose Percht has her successor over Yuyr , that left someone very bitter and over that bitterness, and that person left Fairy Tail went far away and vow vengeance, and that person is Yuyr Dryer's oldest son. Yuyr was cool with Mavis choose, he respected Percht like a mentor, but his oldest son was very angry, thought his father has been insulted and betrayed. So yeah the big bad is Makarov's older brother, who is probably the one that poisoned  Iwan's mind and told him about Lumia Historia, we thought it was Percht, but it was Makarov bitter older brother.

There was never a mention of any brother to Makarov >_>

Well there was no mention of Alvarez till recently, so why not. I am just throwing ideas out there, if this does stem back to Mavis choose for successor, I think there is no chance they are going to make Yuyr a villain. And if you read FTZ, I can't see him go against Mavis judgement.

Alvarez was not mentioned by name however the western continent DID exist on the world map. Making a random Makarov brother pop up would be silly

Mest must come down here often to see Mavis.

Probably because by the time he is back up the stairs he forgets what lumen historic is and probably everything else. That guy has memory issues

Loved the chapter. 730 guilds? Wonder how many top tiers there will be.

Respect to Makarov for what he did.

Couldn't Zeref and his pet dragon take care of that new continent on their own?

I mean so far no one has been able to get anywhere near their level...

One thing that gets me concerned is the inconsistency of the plot. In the flashback, it is revealed that Mest seemed to have already regained his memories and were aware of his mission to infiltrate the Magic Council. However, he was seen shocked when Makarov told him that he is a Fairy Tail mage all along. (Ch. 417: Tartaros arc, Final Part).
