Bingo. Look at what we know about END: He is a fire demon. Igneel could not beat him according to Atlas Flame. Yet somehow he's not around. Igneel this chapter said only HE can retrieve the book. Look at the panneling and you can tell there's more to what he's saying and then he takes EXTRA precaution to tell him to not open the book no matter what. If he was just worried about END popping out of the book and reviving, that would imply it could be done. In which case Marde would have already awakened END. The critical point is here is that NATSU must not open the book or that it should not open while Natsu is around it.

The interaction between Igneel and Natsu was pretty cute I'll admit. When Natsu told Igneel he better not leave the expression on Igneel seemed very sad or maybe resigned...that's not good.

I o not even expect END to be beaten in this arc. Most likely Gray will get beaten and END/Natsu will disappear and next arc they try to get him back

Natsu not being END is almost set in stone and Acno is still freaking powerful..



It seems that Igneel himself was affecting the dragon slayers rather that the others being inside themselves.. I guess people jumped the gun

It isn't set in stone at all. If anything it's more likely since Igneel told him SPECIFICALLY to NOT OPEN THE BOOK. If all it took to awaken End would be to open the book, Marde would have done that ages ago. Igneel doesn't want Natsu to open the book because it's NATSU.
