Nooooooooooooooo!#!!!!!! I refuse to accept that he got killed by a freaking (special beam cannon) cheap shot. mashima you're a perverted sadist haven't you punished us shippers enough?

well there goes my jellal saves the day theory.

There's no way Jellal will really just die like that, but it sure leaves it on a huge cliffhanger to find out how he'll survive. And why Zero just suddenly appeared. And who Silver is. Ugh, so many questions.

I had a feeling that was going to happen. However, even though it seems that Jellal is going to die, I doubt that's what'll happen. But then again, this arc has been filled with the unexpected.

Also, I am extremely disappointed in Elf-man if he really decided to bring death to his friends in order to save his sister's life. I just hope he doesn't do it. Although, I'm sure Cana might do something about it.

I'm really starting to think that Silver is Future Gray the more I look at him.

Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter.

You dont seems to understand that he is being controlled by Sayla

Next chapter titled "The Place Where Prayer Reaches" I wonder what the means. I know that means the Oracion Seis going to do something but what? Are they going to use the power of prayer to save Jellal or defeat Zero?

Well, Maybe Sorano/Angel is able to summon an actual Angel able to save Jellal....it seems unlikely though, because she visibly loathes Jellal...

I'm still placing my bets on the theory that this isn't the actual real Jellal :P

She loathes jellal but I think she likes Zero a lot less :P

Every character has flaws and Erza is no exception. I just don't like how Jellal is now a cheap plot device for romance/drama for her. Since FT was not originally planned this far I give him some credit for ending things how they did originally: The guy she looked up to who got corrupted was finally put down for good and even had a moment of clarity realizing he became evil because of twisted ideals. This allowed her to get closure and move on with her life. Now since FT continued he got revived (maybe at the convincing of his editor like with Lisanna?) and how is just there so she can have drama over the "will they or won't they" question, and it was poorly done.

Erza lacks plot relevance compared to say, Lucy and her mysterious relationship with Celestial realm/mother or Natsu and dragons/Zeref. She and Jellal have to rely and create plot relevance for each other. Well the romance execution is indeed bad, but I have always separated it with the characters themselves, as Mashima actually some develop Jellal decently in this arc. Well we can agree to disagree here.

Anyway, here is a comprehensive post about the Illusion theory for those who are interested:

Except this time instead of pulling the wool over the eyes of the Council members, he is pulling the wool over the eyes of Tartaros and the ex Chairman of the Council. I mean let's think about the necessary things that would have to happen here first in order for the chain of events to transpire that just fucking occurred.

Jellal went through this fight without a single use of his magic:

In what fucking world is Jellal going to encounter five opponents of formidable strength (and let's give OS their just dues, they are a formidable fucking force especially when they fight together as a team, which they've already proven they are incredibly good at) and not use any of his magical spells at all? He used Meteor once throughout the entire fight, no sign of Grand Chariot, no sign of Altarius, he didn't even use Meteor except once during the entire ordeal.

Jellal told Meredy to stand back because this is something he must do on his own:

This probably pushed my biggest alarm button of all, Jellal knows exactly what type of magic Meredy uses, he also knows that Oracion Seis is a very tight knit group as evidenced by Cobra pulling the diplomatic shit he did to get them freed and the group fighting an opponent together who they perceive to be a threat to their own freedom. If his intention was to subdue Oracion Seis in order to get them to keep them in line as per his assumed agreement with Doranbolt releasing them then Meredy is the most logical choice with her Sensory Link spell.

Zero has to revive without any of the prayers used to seal him falling:

Mashima would have to be nearly fucking insane to break this establishment without proper reasoning and I don't think even he is willing to go quite this far, unless Brain created a failsafe for Zero to revive in the event that he should be defeated (which he would have to do in prison by the way because he sure as hell didn't have one when Jura defeated him) then how in the hell is Zero even here right now much less laughing like a maniac and causing carnage just like his old self, he didn't even act properly at all, the Zero I remember was confident enough in himself to not even worry about performing sneak attacks, he flat out announced himself to Natsu, Gray, and Lucy before owning them all single handedly and then DARED everyone there to come get him if they felt like it.

You know what can explain all of this though? There is one thing that can explain everything:

http://www.mangastream.to/fairy-tail-chapter-155-page-17.html

http://www.mangastream.to/fairy-tail-chapter-120-page-9.html

Illusion magic could explain all of these events happening, especially if it were being used to play a trick on someone, and we have two people in this fight who have the option to use it, Jellal who knows Mystogan's magic, and Midnight who has his own illusion magic.

Now why would they need to fool anyone? Because of this:

http://readms.com/r/fairy_tail/368/2226/14

Jellal likely knows the Ex Councilman's magic is a magic which search through the continent for mages, and he also probably knows that he is the last remaining link to activating Face, thus by making Tartaros think he is dead he will effectively lure Tartaros into his own trap. Since Midnight's magic is of a visual type, and we have seen his reaction to Jellal's death in this chapter, I concur that Midnight is most likely using an illusion magic to fool the Chairman and Tartaros into thinking Jellal is dead.

Of course knowing this doesn't explain exactly how Midnight's illusion magic could affect the vision of a magic on the scale of this guy's archive, but since it's Mashima we're unlikely to get an explanation for what happened, however this without a doubt the most likely scenario that is unfolding in this chapter. It's the only thing that makes sense, why else would both Jellal and Zero act so out of character compared to everyone else?

Ladies and gentlemen I rest my case, Jellal is playing the motherfucking long con here, and it's going to be an epic as fuck finish

To be fair, your comparing them to the two leads of the series lol. Erza's character is relevant still though, while literally everything but the romance that was pulled out of Mashim's ass that Jellal has done post revival could easily have been done by other characters with out altering the story one bit.

Face HAS to be activated. Hiro wouldn't bring in a weapon/magic atifact and keep it unused (Etherion, Eclipse Gate anyone?). And the only way to trigger Face is to kill Jellal, so he MUST die eventually. Maybe not now, or maybe he'll be brought back to life somehow, but he has to die at some point for Face to go off, no way around.

But if face goes off everyone is rendered powerless. It's a game over state. It doesn't work at this point in the series

WTF just happened?

I just read the latest chapter and I can´t understand how Hiro Mashima could ever do that O.o

Aaah Jellal isn´t supposed to be dead, he is supposed to get together with Erza in the end. He is an important person in FT and the hell he is not dead.

I think maybe Meredy will do some link magic or something, like Ultear brang back Gray.

I can´t imagine Silver to be future Gray. There are already enough future persons. Of course it could be possible but I don´t like the idea.

I think that Silver maybe knows Natsu from childhood. Of course from a time Natsu can´t remember anymore because he was too young or stuff. Maybe Gray and Natsu have been from the same village that was destroyed or something. The hell I don´t get it all together :D

What pissed me off most was Natsu´s and Lisanna´s naked meeting in Tartaros´ jail.

I am a Nalu fan so it does absolutely not fit in my imagination. Don´t like it. But well I can´t change it so the Nali fans got to celebrate something now ;)

With the Elf-man thing, I am pretty sure Cana will stop him somehow.

Well I am very exited for the next chapter, can´t wait to read it!!! ^_^

I HOPE JELLAL STAYS DEAD. PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN MASHIMA!

jellal is a disgusting waste of a character, and is better off rotting in hell.

Cana was smart to notice the behaviour of Elfman, for that she'll prob fight him maybe.
