My theory is that Hoteye/Richard sunk him into the ground on the second blow. I'm not entirely sure though.

So Silver is demon Gray from the future. First Lucy, then Rouge, now Gray. Who is else is going to be coming from the future?

I was thinking that at first but then I thought Gildarts and Cana are father and daughter and Natsu never thought they smelled similar and was shocked when he learned that Cana was his daughter. Just my theory.
