Yeah, pretty much. He noticed night away and seemed to be quite sure that it's specifically Gray and not a relative or something. Though in fairy tail it could be a number of things. We already had parallel worlds and time travel. Maybe he's some other kind of Grey equivalent. He could be an evil, future clone twin Gray from another world as far as we know.



As for the connection to Ul theory. It's all rampant speculation based on the assumption that his anger towards Gray comes from that he blames him for Ul death which doesn't make much sense at the moment.



I would bet it's "just" future Gray.



It makes perfect sense. It's more like if he is related to gray by blood, that hatred makes no sense.



I'm going with gray from the future too. I mean him being gray's fathr doesn't make ant sense due to him being already dead. And if it was gray's dad then the smell doesn't make sense. Natsu probably would've said ul or ultear if that were the case. It's probably either a future gray annoyed with his past self, or like an altenate gray from another world

I wonder when he will defrost. Silver scares me though...

Most usual answer for that question would be Gray's mom died while giving birth to him. And getting turned into a demon probably helped with the hatred.

Zero is maybe Grays father or he is timetravel Gray. They smell both the same so I think the last option is right.

The time traveler Gray theory is plausible but I really don't think so. I'm more towards the Ul's husband theory. I don't know why he'd hate Gray for that though.

Hope this ends soon. Imagine if most of this arc focused on raping Erza anywhere possible. I read Wolf Guy and about 1/3 of the manga was focused on certain girl abuse (group rape and humiliation). That was horrible.

Wonder what the relationship between Gray and Zero is. I'm suspecting Ultear's father because a) As someone said Ultear dying from having too much magic could have been caused by having a demon father and b) Didn't Ultear say that Ul was dumped by her father or something?



That wouldn't explain why he smells like Gray though, seeing as Gray wouldn't be related to him or anything. The whole "Ul got Zero's scent on her, and Gray got Zero's scent from Ul" wouldn't make sense. It's a scent, not an STD. By that logic than everyone would have everyone else's scent.

So if mashima is going this route...it seems to me that

grey = silver



and maybe

kyouka = Mirajane(only due to the nature of her ability and how her looks change)

ezel = Elfman "due to selling his soul to save lisanna"

^ wouldnt mind being incorrect regardless lol xD

So Gray is really connected to this Absolute Zero guy. But it's curious since Gray learned of ice magic after meeting Ul, not before.
