Got back from work, could of actually read this morning (or at work), but want to enjoy the chapter on my own time.

There was a interesting remark from Natsu, stating he does not care for the actual competition and he wanted to focus on Lucy. He did not mention anything about the idea of him being pick to go save Lucy, because he was a perfect candidate, due to the magic absorbing machine.

Bacchus getting one-shot by Sting was a sad moment, but it further proves that he has decent offensive skills, but horrible defense. Going back to Erza comment about how strong he was, I guess she was humble or only saw him at his best or she has gotten way stronger afterwards (meeting Lucy afterwards & on etc...).

Elfman was never top 10 in Fairy Tail manga from the beginning to the end. He was so swag by Bacchus in their match and only won with a that lizard spike form. Bacchus should of at least learn some projectile attack's, or wore steel bracer gloves. :derp:

Minerva command all ST member's to avoid Jura and Kagura, but no mention of the Erza or Laxus. There a few speculation's here:

1) Save the best for alast

2) She knows they're not on the move

Minerva the brain of the team, she isn't gonna under estimate a guy who one-shot a whole team (Raven Tail) and a goddess who massacre 100 monster's, including a boss, that might of been tough for Jura himself.

From the beginning of the introduction of Jura, I never thought he was strong or anything, compared to Erza at the time. I was "what the hell?" I bet Erza can be one of the 10 saints with ease. I guess that's wishful thinking thanks to the time-skip and seeing how hype up Jura is.

I hope Kagura  does not show us her real blade in this arc, maybe for a future arc, where Erza force to fight her, because of our blue hair man!

Lastly Mirajane abilities came in handy. I have always thought she can only turn into her demon form's. I wonder where the other 2 cat's are hiding. :perv:

In before people start up crap in the FT forum again, so I can stay out of it ^^

I wonder if Mavis is a possible yandere.  Sometimes she just scares me.  I vote for Erza as the leader.

She is not dead nor is she alive.

She is either a fairy or fairy-slayer.

Where did that come from? I do believe that she might have some connection to the entity called "fairies" (as they will have some role in the future, I belive) but I don't think Hiro would give us the answer to this manga's "ultimate question" already(cuz she obviously has no tail)

Its just speculation. But like you said, she may really have a connection of some sort to fairies.

We know she is of spiritual form. "Dead" was merely a word I used. It hasn't been implied that she is TRULY dead, it's reasonable to assume that she is.

A spirit form that had to use the bathroom. Or a spirit form that could actually feel water and enjoy playing around in it. Must be a really advanced spirit form then.

Having Laxus as the leader would be the safest choice imo though with only 1 point difference it would be hard to stay in No1 unless they go at it offensively.

Btw, did you notice that the points accumulated in this match go directly to their scores?

I'm assuming everyone did. Which is why it was said that all the teams still had a chance at winning the games.

Still funny how they're like "LETS GO! OHHHHH!"

*closes eyes and stands there*

gajeel would suck against Orga, he would be like a lightning rod :D

No doubt, but he would have to hit Gajeel first. Judging by natsu's win over the twin ds, then if gajeel is fairly close in power, I still think he would beat orga from pure skill alone.

Difference. She's the First. She's the Founder. She's his predecessor. He's differing to her as a sign of respect. She's not actually calling any shots or making any decisions; but he does act to seek her approval.

Exactly. My point being HE SHOULDN"T. He should tell her something like:"Times have changed and I know my family and this world better than you". According to that, it strikes to me as annoying that the one who came up with a strategy (without Makarov knowing a single thing) was Mavis. You wanna know what role I think both of them should have in this arc, the ones they had during Laxus' match against "alexei". In other words Makarov taking the initiative while Mavis compliments him on his skills as a Master. Not the other way arround.

Erza or Laxus, being the real Person's of Mass Destruction with the reputation to match, are too apparent leaders. It has to some of the other three members.

Also, would be awesome to see Gray and Juvia performing an Unison Raid and freeze half of the City just because.

Kanic I get you but I think you're complaining pointlessly. First off, the 2 sided strategy is Makarovs doing (2 teams, rescue and ftw team), and it is so much obvious that Makarov sense of battle/war strategy is lame as shit (need I remind the phantom lord arc, or perhaps fairy island), in my oppinion Mavis is just filling the holes Makarov has. She is a great strategist in battle (whilst a little poor on the outside, let's give a banal example--> judging purehito as a good character for the 2nd FT master) while Makarov relies on his brute strength/skill in battles head on.

Makarov was always shown as an experienced inteligent person when it came to strategies exceeding the battlefront and dealing with global issues/council, but his battle tactics aren't so good. Mavis on the other hand is a different character, analyzing every battle from the beginning of the tournament and comming up with comments and strategies that everyone saw with wondrous eyes.

That is my opinion atleast, the ilussion of her overshadowing Makarov is just because everyone focuses on the battles because it's a battle tournament, thus disregarding Makarov's shadow play outside.

Nice chapter, but isn't it a bit cheating with a dead guild master who can foretell the future helping out? Haha. I guess it doesn't matter, since if what was previewed before comes true, FT are going to get brutally demolished.

I suspect this new Eclipse plan is to bring forth dragons or something like that, as opposed to going to the past to prevent one from being created. Interesting interesting!

It won't be the guilds that do it though so in theory they should still win.
