Fairy Tail Chapter 296 Discussion

Well, I was half right about this chapter. It was Natsu beating them both alone and easily, but it wasn't him using Lightning Flame Mode, just normal ol' Natsu.....yep....I think I've had my daily meal of trolling today, this time with a large serving. Not to say that this chapter was bad, just...rather unhappy with what Gajeel got.....seriously...Rogue even said he wanted to fight Gajeel, it would've been a cool moment if Natsu knocked Rogue to where Gajeel was for them to have their fight. Oh well, got  three good things out of this chapter:



1.Pricktooth getting their asses kicked.

2.Lord Zeref or whoever showing up and confirming that the arc will soon reach it's epic endgame.

3.Sexy picture of Eclair from the movie at the beginning.

Epic!

This was too epic!

Natsu is too damn strong.

Well,yeah.The thing is that not every tournament has to be exciting till the end or even end,as shown on other manga.Naruto's tournament was also interrupted and the focus ended up being on Gaara.And Naruto actually was able to beat everyone he fought on the tournament and the monster Gaara as well.The only exception was when he met Orochimaru on that forest....I think.



There are a few cases where tournaments were more important and were a challenge(like the first two tournaments in Dragon Ball-only the first two)



At least it was believable, their victory that is, unlike in this case, a first generation defeated a 3rd generation with pure feelings alone, and imagine Natsu using dragon force, he would be invincible, even more unbelievable than Naruto -.-



This will be the first time I voted for 1 since chapter 2xx?

Fight was waay too one-sided and Natsu didn't even have to get out of second gear (use Lightening-Dragon mode) yet he tanked two Dragon Force so easily. And the reason? feelings and nakama. Ugh!

If you read Fairy Tail for the action, then it get's a solid 5/5, you won't find another manga with better action very fast.



If however you want your manga to have a good story, then this manga is, slowly, getting worse compared to the arcs before this.



The first thing that bothers me is how Lucy seems to be someone with the roll of getting beaten most of the time (luckily not all the time...) just to give Natsu & co a reason to take revenge on the eneemy.

Btw, in this fight something like this can again be seen, although not like the times before. Personally I'd want the battle against Minerva to be the moment of "revenge", not this fight, but that's just my own opinion...



2nd thing I dislike are the often random power ups, although that isn't really the case now, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about ;)

I'm not saying I'm against power ups, but I like them more if they have a (good) reason, like in One Piece or Dragonball and even Naruto.



A 3rd thing I'd love to have seen diffrent is..."losing". Because of the often random power ups, Natsu & co are getting somewhat "unbeatable"

I'm sure some or many like this but I prefer characters that achieve something because they worked for it ! They win, sometimes lose, train/work hard and overcome an earlier obstacle. Again, just my opinion.



A 4th thing i dislike, and this is realy a shame, is that this manga is getting predictable....not good...



About this chapter: the fight was a disappointment as some people have already said. Why overhype them if you'll make them lose like this ?

One reason: To show how strong Natsu is......could have been done in another way.



I'd also like seeing more action NOT done by Natsu, Erza or Gajeel. It would be nice if the other characters got a bit more attention (and win without getting help from Natsu xP *cough* Lucy *cough*).



All in all, I stil like Fairy Tail but the weak points made it drop from my 2nd most favourite manga to somewhere at the bottem of my top 10....



(So don't bother saying i'm a hater, that I should drop it or whatever. Typing a small text with critiqe doesn't mean someone hates fairy Tail....)

As for the haters.. *COME AT ME BRO* made with flames ;)

I didn't want Rogue and Sting to enter FT before,but now I like them.They should enter,since they'll probably be expelled from Sabertooth.



I also wonder what we'll happen next on the tournamet.We'll there really be a 5v5 fight?It would be odd to see the Dragon Slayers fight again...or maybe not.



We still need to see Rogue's backstory too.
