I'm taking a guess that the huge magic power needed to power the tower will be coming from that blast, so that's why he wants to get hit.  I don't know how they'll be able to prevent what's about to happen though.

Talk about predictable, but I still like this arc. I guess Gerard and Seig really are working together if that blast will power up the R-System. I can't wait to read what happens next~
