Oh well I guess this is the end.  It was bittersweet and disappointing. But I never expected a "happy" ending.

As for those of you confused about the children in the Japanese version the girl called Kaname "my other father" which implies that Kaname is her father.  Essentially it means that Zero was the father who raised her, but Kaname is her biological father. There would be no other reason for her to say this.

okay what chapter does yuuki and kaname make their daughter

I don't think kaname's one do it with her when he wanted to leave

or make another pureblood with the curse of eternity

Chapter 88.

He tells Yuuki he will show her where her hear really is by banging her, er, I mean by making sweet love to her.  But, the next day he decides to die.  Also, the next day Yuuki is still emotional over Zero.

I don't know, it was kind of pointless.  She could have just drawn some HinoxKaname and kept it stashed away.  But, the public had to know that Kaname would not die a virgin.

it was chapter 89

thanx

i still do think zero -kun died because he's not a pure blood , and former human

i do not see why else yuuki would wait a thousand years

the biggest irritation I have is when people don't think yuuki truly loves zero

or that zero is one that makes yuuki happy

if kaname's made yuuki happy i'd be all for it

i looked at the last part again and yuuki had a very happy face when she talks about zero

Honestly, I would find it stupid if the daughter was Zero's. She's the older one for a reason. Which is a clear nod to Kaname's & Yuki's one night stand. It could also be an awful way of confusing the readers and again, appeasing the entire fan base. But, we've clearly seen what a horrible job she's done.

I hope to never encounter such a series again.

A sad case of a mangaka determined to give everyone a "good" ending.

Can't believe it! What a disappointment!!!

Really, I would be happy if Zero end up with any girl, less Yuuki, plus having to accept a pure blood child, when he was a hunter and fought pure bloods...

Also, treesome kind of ending, had sex with Kaname end up with Zero...what a shame Yuuki! Zero was always there for you, you should have died before even having the chance to stay with him...

This serie was dead for me for a long time now, Zero was the only reason why I kept reading it.

That ending was unexpectedly satisfying.  While the journey to this point was clumsy & somewhat disorienting, I still feel this to be an agreeable destination.  The ending finds a bittersweet balance that took an entirely different route from what I had imagined.  I thought that it would have ended with vampires & humans finally overcoming differences and that Cross Academy would have been the ultimate incarnation of that theme at the end.  Instead, the conclusion basically eradicates vampirism, enforcing the overarching idea that humans & vampires were simply too different in their existence.

But in that sense, the role of Cross Academy makes me think of the author's other one-shot manga about the Grumpy Baker.  That even though it was fleeting and didn't last, it played an important role in bringing the characters together who could finally end thousands of years of strife between the two species.

This is no doubt an unpopular sentiment, but I personally like the way the main trio's character arcs concluded.  Vampire Knight constantly focuses on how their feelings remained unchanging.  Though conflicted & confused at times, they ultimately were bound to those strong desires for one another.  Zero, who was finally honest enough to prioritize his love of Yuuki over his hatred of vampires.  Kaname, who was caught between what to do for Yuuki's sake.  And Yuuki, who loved both of them - a love of passion for Zero and a love of deep admiration for Kaname.  I don't think it's a copout that she never chose one over the other.  I feel that the whole point of her loving both of them was to show how she still had feelings based on her distinct experiences as both a human & a vampire.

The final pages are actually quite poetic in portraying those everlasting feelings.  Yuuki's love for Zero lasts a lifetime.  The feelings were real but it wasn't meant to last.  In contrast, Yuuki sacrifices eternity to show Kaname the fleeting but beautiful world she lived in for 11 years.  As a vampire, it's the ultimate display of her undying affection for Kaname.

Personally, I was always rooting for Zero and wasn't so fond of Kaname.  That said, this ending moved me and I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief for Kaname.  That after over 10,000 years of permanence, he was freed of his enormous burdens to live a blink's worth of time in comparison.  Not buried in a coffin or in a deep, dark forest, but out in the same sunlight that Yuuki freely basked in.

I started VK with the anime back in 2008 and never imagined I'd ever read the manga a whole 14 years later.  It helps lay some adolescent nostalgia to rest and I do feel a sense of peace as I turn the final page on this saga.

So many fucking things that make no sense. Hino fucking fails

- Pregnant first time and only time she has sex with Kaname. Using Yuuki’s womb as a plot device, for shame.

- Kaname may recover his memories in the future and either die in agony or be saved and helplessly remember all the sad shit he went through.

- 89-92 meaningless filler.

- The children lose their parents. And the girl is Kaname’s daughter so she’s a pureblood and will eventually lose her brother too and live through all those painful pb issues. Like having to kill herself eventually because immortality is painful. Does Aidou and co’s ‘medicine’ resolve that issue? NOPE (EDIT: I read the whole set of raws last night andI guess she could take that medicine and become human. A huge disappointment though - when was being a pureblood a bad thing?)

And if we were going to get Zeki endgame anyway, all that bullshit Zero memory loss and Yume sex shouldn’t have been published because it’s just embarrassingly bad writing. Cut out 88-92, purebloods attack at the ball in 87 - skip straight to 93. There, fixed it for you

hmmm, looks like Zero became a substitute for Kaname because he's in his deep slumber.. If Kaname was awake, it will be a Yuuki-Kaname end... sigh.. Can't Zero deserve better than Yuuki :|

Nah, it doesn't matter.. as long as Zero's happy, I'm fine with it (even though I'm not really XDDD)

I reeeeeally hope the daughter is from Zero. If not... I will cut someone.

Zero is happy in the end, so I'm happy... I guess. I mean, he's basically Kaname's replacement and is fine with that...

ZERO, HAVE A LITTLE SELF-WORTH. >_<

And wait... 1000 years passed? Does that mean that's how long Zero ended up living?

How is that even possible... O_o

F***.

That was totally my response to this chapter...

I mean, I guess it started out okay, my hopes actually started to rise, until it turned into a shitball. I mean, alright, I actually managed to feel some sympathy for Kaname, until he was like, "I want you two to be together." WTF, man? The girl whose cherry you just popped is sobbing manically because you're dying, and you're telling her to BE WITH ANOTHER GUY???

And then, Zero saying, "Say you'll go with me," was totally, completely out of character. Zero would NEVER do anything of the sort!!! He is the kind of guy who understands, and I KNOW he would not be rushing to grab Yuuki once her love-of-life *rolls eyes* was dead -_- In fact, I'm positive he would have waited!!!

So yeah, the ending, too, was crap. Even though it is a consolation that Zero was actually HAPPY (seriously, the guy had some peace of mind REALLY overdue) at the end, I was still not satisfied with the ending! The whole PURPOSE of Kaname's life was protecting Yuuki. I don't think he'd be too happy to know what she did. Especially since there is a chance that Kaname will start out his human life with no memories, we might even have a repeat of all the stuff that Yuuki did!

Anyone up for VK 2?  Just don't forget to bring your barf-bowls. We'll provide the tranquilizers.
