Another stupid chapter. I hope the filed gets destroyed or Thorgin recognizes Thorfin

Lol, these discussion threads are more entertaining than the chapters.

Another great chapter; this time we got an insight into the romantic relations between slaves, the dangers that threaten new crops and how they are countered; through praying. Thorfin looked slightly humiliated as he was forced to pray, but soon found himself caught up in the moment. With 80% of the crops growing and the grand master taking a liking to our heroes, things can only go up.

We are also in for another treat coming up next time: the judicial aspects of farming life, ergo dealing with thieves, despite them being children.

Some moral objections my linger as visible in the masters face, but on a farm such things are a sign of weakness, and may cause doubt among the soldiers.

Truly awesome lessons to be learned, the dynamics of the  story just jumps out from the page and bites you by the throat. I just can't stop reading.

It will never end.

When will we get another farming saga of this caliber? Never, that's when.

Farmland Saga is unique, and it gives the people what they want: a manga about farming, since the industry has been severely lacking  in the farming manga department.

People have yet to realized that the prologue was just a clever rouse to lure them in, get them hooked on action before slapping them across the face with the epicness of farming. Farmland Saga is the real story.

I dunno, I liked Mushishi a lot but the difference here is that this started out as violent as hell and kept that awesomeness until chapter 54. Then it slowly started going down. I'll still rate this manga 10 on here but if this continues for much longer...then I dunno.

I dont know if you've read the mangakas previous work, but 'planetes' was just as unpredictable (if not more). It never went in one direction and it continued to surprise me until the last page, and I was left wanting for more. Well..I hope this series is much longer because t does have a lot of potential.

I think things are changing now in the story and the action bit is coming closer again. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was entirely different than the prologue part. The story itself is going through this slow drama character building phase and we've seen at least 5 major additions after the prologue. But I think its the chapter size that makes t seem slower than usual. We only get to read it monthly (approx) and the chapters like 22 pages.

Yeah an unpredictable manga is always good as I just read 20th Century Boys right before this and that was great. The only downside is that the chapters are as you stated, 20 some pages. They should be 35 pages at the least. This arc would move along faster at least. And hopefully the next chapter is the start or transition to some new arc. As people have said, this farmland arc is getting boring fast. Mushishi was able to take that calm element of a story and elevate it to awesome heights mainly because the stories were things people have never seen implemented in manga before. For future plot progression, I kind of hope the author brings back the slave girl named Hordaland by her master. Just that if the story is going where I think it's going, a female character for him is bound to show up sooner or later. And I'm saying her specifically because of what she said towards the end of their conversation back in chapter 2.

This is the one I mean:
