Dang that was fantastic! And nihilistic.

I hate the priest's philosophy, but it's understandable considering the brutal hell they are all living.

I feel really bad for Chanute. The priest got to him in his most vulnerable moment. He's now given up on the world and believes human beings are evil to the core. That's the worst feeling.

I assume like Thorfinn, he's now been damaged beyond repair.

Easily one of the best chapters so far. Great storytelling

Nice philosophy about love, considering that the humankind are fighting each other from they are 'awakened'(created, evolved whatever you want to call.)

Today is 2017 and people are still killing each other. I don't agree with crazy, drunk priest's ideology yet he is right about some of them but for example you can not defy a mother's love for their children, you just can't say prejudice. She expect her children to become what she wishes? That is why he calls it prejudice? (This is getting deep hehe.)

I love Vinland Saga so far, art, storytelling, character developments are superb. VS is one of my favorites now.

Sure, let's start The Definition of Love with a flying severed head shooting tournament...

Thorkell just sent Thorfinn flying, this dude is too much. Like others have said I vehemently disagree with the priest but that was still an interesting perspective to look at the meaning of love. why'd you disagree?

"So you are saying that death is the true nature of love?"

"Yes."

"...then a parent's love for their child, of husband and wife for one another, the affection that Ragnar felt for me... What are those?

"Prejudice."

That was an amazing chapter...

I deeply regret that I didn't listen to this while reading this chapter...

Huh, an interesting way to look at love. I can understand it, though, though I don't necessarily agree. Dead people aren't being so pure and selfless of their own will, after all, so I don't know how significant their love is. that's the point, that it's impossible to truly love at your will, whatever love you feel is prejudiced, his definition and standard for love is higher than simply caring about someone else more than yourself.
