Popular Reviews
Story (7): This omnibus manga consists of five separate stories, each featuring the same protagonist falling in love with a different girl. Among these, my favorite is Mao, which beautifully portrays childhood friends blossoming into lovers. Eriko stands out as the most unique, exploring an emotionless genius learning about feelings, while Yuumi, involving shy classmates navigating mutual crushes, might be considered the weakest. Though none of the stories are revolutionary, they are uniformly free of melodrama, well-paced, and undeniably adorable and enjoyable.
Art (8): The girls are charmingly drawn, and the backgrounds are visually appealing. Attention to detail is commendable; for example, soccer scenes are accurately depicted, food looks appropriately unappealing when intended, and music is cleverly integrated into the artwork.
Characters (8): The protagonist serves as a somewhat blank canvas—neither spineless nor overly aggressive, reasonably intelligent and athletic but not outstanding, admired by his sister yet not a sis-con. He embodies a typical high school male. The standout characters are the female leads:
- Mao, the popular childhood friend who masks her insecurities with boldness (but isn't a tsundere).
- Asuka, a passionate soccer enthusiast striving to achieve her dreams despite attending a school without a girls' soccer team.
- Mitsuki, a sheltered rich girl longing for her knight in shining armor.
- Eriko, an indifferent genius exploring the concept of love and its significance.
- Yuumi, the timid girl seeking confidence and personal growth.
While these characters reflect familiar archetypes, they are given sufficient depth to resonate as genuine individuals with relatable challenges.
Enjoyment (8): This series delivers feel-good vibes from beginning to end. None of the narratives lag or succumb to melodrama, ensuring a consistently engaging experience.
Overall (8): If you enjoy romance manga, this one is sure to please.
To begin with, I was in the mood for a random romance manga because I'd had my fill of action and adventure. This manga is worth checking out, but it's not exactly exceptional.
Story - The story unfolds across five distinct arcs, each featuring a different girl the protagonist can end up with (so the first arc focuses on one girl, the next arc introduces another, and so on). The pacing feels a bit too rushed, with couples falling in love within just three chapters, which makes everything seem hurried. Additionally, the story lacks compelling drama, which is crucial for making a romance feel truly engaging. I gave the story a 6/10 (Fair), as it deserves that much. Not great, but decent.
Art - This is where things shine. The artwork is fantastic and captivating. The romantic scenes perfectly align with the artist's style, enhancing the overall experience. 10/10 (Outstanding).
Characters - The characters are somewhat underwhelming. Each new arc brings a fresh set of girls with varying personalities—one might be shy, another bossy, another playful, etc. However, the main character remains static throughout the series. His behavior toward each girl after falling in love doesn't change, offering little variety. 6/10 (Fair).
Enjoyment - The enjoyment factor is satisfying. The author/artist creatively crafted multiple options (the various girls) for the protagonist, which adds an interesting layer to the narrative (even though it's based on a game—a fact I only discovered after finishing it). 7/10 (Good).
Overall - In conclusion, the series is enjoyable and worth reading. I recommend it to anyone with some free time on their hands. It'll keep you entertained for about 45 to 90 minutes, so give it a try if you have the time. 7/10.
