In the magical world of Cordial, where the bond between humans and beasts defines power and prestige, Riven Stormbrand dreams of becoming a legendary Beast Master. Born with a soul of exception purity, he was destined for greatness—or so everyone believed. But when his once-bright future is shattered during the Beast Exams, Riven\'s life takes an unexpected turn.
Marked by an ancient and unfathomable creature after a fateful encounter with a mysterious orange stone, Riven’s soul rejects the bond with wild beasts of higher blood lines, rendering him an outcast in the eyes of his peers and a disappointment to his extended family. Yet, amidst rejection and loss, his unwavering resolve shines through. Choosing to walk the path of a hunter, he eventually discovers the power he was gifted with: the ability to absorb the souls of slain beasts and to fuse them, creating powerful allies unlike any others in the land.
As Riven treads this uncharted path to power, his city faces an unprecedented catastrophe—a monstrous horde of beasts threatens to annihilate everything he holds dear. Forced into a battle for survival, Riven finds himself torn between protecting his home and harnessing the chaos to strengthen his newfound power.
The First Fusion Master is a tale of resilience, discovery, and a power that defies tradition—a journey where the lines between hero and outcast blur, and strength is born from the unlikeliest of places.

After 13 chapters, the characters begin behaving and speaking in extremely unexpected ways, talking about events that never happened while also forgetting events that did happen. I'm almost certain that the author has two different versions of the same novel, with critical differences in the events of the plot between the two, and has mistakenly mixed up chapters of the two together. The story was going well at first, although the chemistry between the two main characters was lacking. But I initially dismissed it as just awkward writing. But after reading the 14th and 15th chapter, nothing made sense anymore and the attraction between the two felt more forced than ever. On the bright side, the way the author narrates the environment, the mood, and the thoughts and feelings of the characters is extremely good. I just hope that whatever made the characters begin behaving oddly and speaking in very self-contradictory ways gets resolved. The fact that nearly everything that happened during the first chapters is contradicted in a single dialogue in the 14th chapter leads me to believe that a huge mixup must have happened. The inconsistency is hard to overlook. I truly was enjoying the story but it just took such a sudden nosedive that I can't justify continuing to read it. Good luck, author.

Since Bolt was taking initiative to better his memory, Avery resolved to let him be. It was good to let him decide how he wishes to arrange his training regime so long as he properly finishes all his tasks. Doing so would only boost his drive for further improvement and lessen his mental strains in the long term.

He still remembered the way she had clung to his shirt and melted in his hands. His ears would forever remember the sweetness of her voice as she cried out in longing for him. The poor thing probably didn't even know what it was she was longing for, he mused.
