On the first day of her transmigration into the imperial harem, Jiang Xinyu was already out of favor.
Everyone said she was merely a pretty face without substance.
On the second day of her transmigration into the imperial harem, Jiang Xinyu regained the emperor's favor.
From then on, she held the emperor's heart firmly in her hands.
She fought monsters and leveled up, rising from a noble consort all the way to the honorable imperial consort, basking in unwavering favor.
Emperor Xuan Wu: At first, it was lust at first sight, but later I became truly captivated by her charms. Who knew this woman had so many more faces that I was unaware of?
Jiang Xinyu: The emperor is the harem's highest-level boss with the thickest health bar. If I can deplete his health bar, I can become the supreme empress of this harem.
P.S. The heroine is solely focused on her career, yearning for riches and glory, a life of luxury and indulgence. She excels in all pursuits, with layer upon layer of schemes to conquer the emperor's heart.

This is my first time diving into a manga with a plot like this, so naturally, it feels somewhat original to me. A rich girl losing the use of her legs—what on earth is she supposed to do? Simultaneously, she falls for her doctor. Intriguing? Not really. While I appreciate the realistic aspects of the story, it felt incredibly tedious to me. It was a chore to get through this manga. To me, 15 chapters felt excessively long. Yes, I generally enjoy slower-paced narratives, but perhaps that preference only applies to action stories. Having read plenty of shoujo manga, I tend to prefer quicker pacing. This one, however, dragged on far too long for its own good.
Art: 6
Despite being released in 2004, the art style still feels outdated. The visuals didn't particularly draw me in, nor did they actively repel me. To me, the art was merely average.
Character: 7
This is undoubtedly the story's strongest point. We witness how loss can profoundly impact a person, leading to sadness and depression, as seen through Karin. Beyond that, her determination and transformation are compelling. Karin might have been irritating at the beginning of the manga, but by the end, she becomes someone you can genuinely admire. Despite facing numerous setbacks, she never gave up and evolved into a better version of herself—a character arc I find satisfying.
On the other hand, her love interest frustrates me immensely. His personality type leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I truly wish Karin had ended up with someone more deserving. Teppei, driven solely by his ambitions, displayed despicable behavior throughout. Even if he occasionally treated Karin kindly, his overall actions remain unforgivable.
Shouni, another character, stood out due to his bold and eccentric nature. My initial impressions of him mirrored those of most readers, but as the story progressed, I grew to appreciate his unique personality. Kiki, meanwhile, is undeniably adorable, though she hasn't been given much depth. Still, I'm grateful for her presence, as she supported Karin during tough times.
Enjoyment & Overall: 5-6
As mentioned earlier, this manga was painfully monotonous for me. What kept me going was my personal rule not to abandon any manga, coupled with sheer boredom at the time. Personally, I lean toward shorter shoujo manga when looking for quick reads. Longer series like Gakuen Alice and Death Note captivate me to the point where I can't put them down, which isn't always ideal.
In summary, this is just an average shoujo manga. There's nothing extraordinary or exceptionally great about it, yet it's also not outright terrible. If you're seeking something to pass the time, this manga might tug at your heartstrings occasionally, making it worth a try—if you're feeling bored, that is.
