Cedric Vaelstadt, a minor noble from the Duchy of Vaelstrom, has always been protected by the power and prestige of his family. That is, until a brutal betrayal shatters everything he knew. Stripped of his titles and left for dead, Cedric is saved by a mysterious figure—a former Captain of The Order of Dread Watchers. The Order, once revered as protectors, has been disbanded and outlawed by the Empire, their existence now only whispered about in fear and suspicion. Though the Order is despised by the Empire’s elite, they remain revered by the common folk, their legends fueling hope in dark times.

The Captain, haunted by the fall of his order, takes Cedric under his wing, teaching him the brutal art of killing the Corrupted—mysterious, monstrous entities that have begun to emerge from the shadows, threatening all of humanity. As Cedric learns to fight, survive, and navigate the dangerous world, he begins to question the Status of non humans in this corrupted land.

With the Empire turning a blind eye to the threat, Cedric and the former Captain must gather allies, confront the Corrupted in battle, and unravel a conspiracy that could destroy everything. In this tale of survival, betrayal, and relentless conflict, Cedric must decide whether to seek vengeance or become the hero his shattered world desperately needs.
