The narrative stands out as exceptional, deviating from the conventional themes of Chinese cultivation and Eastern fantasy literature. The characters are well-developed, and the plot keeps readers on their toes with unexpected twists. What makes it unique is the protagonist's relatability – he's not overly powerful, and his female leads are even stronger, defying typical Chinese protagonist stereotypes. The world-building is impressive.

However, the book is not without flaws. Periods of lengthy chapters feel like filler, as they incorporate unrelated short stories or excessively detailed subplots. The translation, while commendable, can be slow due to the concise chapter lengths, raising concerns about the pace of release.

Update: As of September 2020, caution is advised as chapter links have been redirected to suspicious or scam sites. I sincerely hope the translator returns to their original path, as it would be disappointing for this novel's translation to end abruptly.

Update (2024): The translation has now improved in speed, though the quality has slightly declined. Despite this, it remains readable, especially considering the extensive length of the series, making the compromise reasonable.

Every time I come across this, I can't help but mentally hum Gir's "Doom Song" from Invader Zim. It's a strange comparison, but if I had just one percent of Yun Xi's troubles, I'd consider myself fortunate. The issue is, his natural charm with women often lands him in hot water – they either become overly jealous and possessive, or their emotions escalate to that very same state due to him. Even an entire planet of 'harem' wouldn't be enough to satisfy them, let alone the super-powered girls or goddess-like beings who might also fancy him.

Reading about Yun Xi's life feels like watching a high-stakes acrobatic performance on a razor's edge. And to make matters worse, he isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the box – though being a genius wouldn't necessarily save him either. His encounters with sexual situations tend to spiral out of his control, turning into a series of escalating disasters.

    "Doom doom doomy-doom!"

I began reading this story approximately a year ago, I think. Initially, it was intriguing, but the pace of developing or translating the narrative seems to拖得无法预计, even extending beyond a human lifespan. The author and translator appear to be working at conflicting speeds – the writer moves slowly like a tortoise while the translator plods along at a snail's pace. I recall stopping around chapter 100 or so. Prompted by recent updates, I decided to pen this review to inform others that, given the current rate, this story might not be worth investing time in.

When read in its raw form, the narrative began to devolve into a poorly executed fan fiction. The protagonist suddenly jumps from one random world or realm without any logical reason, turning each new location into a setup for bland stories where they meet new love interests. This could have been an intriguing premise, but the author's lack of writing skill ruins it.

The story initially starts off on a promising note, with a humble man contentedly leading a straightforward life and excelling at his chosen profession. He had plans to continue down this path for the rest of his days. However, his world takes a sudden turn when the narrative becomes overly extravagant. It evolves from a simple tale that hints at greater power structures and hierarchical roles to delving into discussions of supreme dragon deities. The issue lies in the inconsistency, as there are four distinct gods mentioned, alongside talk of goddesses' gods. This blending of concepts loses its appeal, causing boredom to set in.

Despite the novel being only available up to Chapter 7, its premise has already captivated me. The story revolves around a young boy, chosen by the stars, hence the title 'Star Child.' Initially, he leads an ordinary life as a baker, with no interest in becoming a swordsman. However, circumstances push him to become stronger to avoid being killed by his four formidable ex-girlfriends from his past life (he possesses a unique ability that allows him to resurrect after each demise). Power seems to be gained through trials presented by his spirit, a lovable character referred to as a spirit guide. The first trial involves conquering a beauty.

In essence, the narrative combines humor and comedy, making it a delightful read worth your time. I'll update my thoughts once I progress further.

Sure, I understand your concern. It seems you're referring to a novel where there are instances of sexualizing minors, which you find inappropriate. In Chapter 1029, this issue had already occurred three times previously, and despite hoping it would improve, it didn't. You wished you had realized earlier that the content wasn't suitable.

As a spoiler, here's a brief overview of what led you to decide to stop reading: The main character experiences a series of events where they transform into a dragon due to an attack, and upon landing on a new world, they become an egg. A 14-year-old princess discovers them, intending to hatch them according to a book that suggests loving and undressing the egg for a process that implies sexual overtones, even describing climax-like sensations.

This is followed by a scene involving the princess's younger sister, who is only nine years old, finding them and the book. The author then describes the sister's appearance in a sexualized manner as she interacts with the egg, which you find extremely disturbing.

As a result, you've decided to remove this book from your reading list and focus on more positive content, expressing frustration with the situation.

I would rate the story a solid 5 out of 5 for its epic and refreshing take on the narrative. Instead of a typical protagonist seeking to become stronger or protect others, the plot revolves around the character needing to gain power to safeguard himself. The light-hearted tone adds to the overall satisfaction of reading this novel. Additionally, the comedic moments featuring the female characters are well-executed.

In terms of translation, it's competent, but the release schedule could be improved. Despite this minor setback, the story stands out as a unique genre offering, earning it a 5/5 from me.
