"But this feels real," she whispered. Curiosity overpowered her as she circled the coffin. Thankfully, it wasn't locked. She took a deep breath and pulled it open. "Jesus Christ!" Rose exclaimed, her hand flying to her chest as she gasped for air. She stood frozen beside the coffin, staring at a young man with the most beautiful face she had ever seen, lying still and comfortably inside. Was he dead? He looked so pale, like death itself, yet his beauty was too striking to be called dead. It was gothic beauty personified. Rose knew she should run for her life, but something drew her closer to the man in the coffin. She shone her flashlight closer to his face and reached out, placing her hand under his nose to check if he was breathing. No breath, his nose cold as ice. Still entranced by the man's face, Rose felt something icy touch her arm. Her heart sank into her stomach as she slowly turned her head. There, she saw white, slim, masculine fingers tightly wrapped around her wrist. Her soul seemed to leave her body, her heart stopping before racing wildly in her chest. "Hail fucking Mary!" Rose whispered in a frightened tone, her lips quivering and her eyes widening unnaturally. Her legs became paralyzed with fear, unable to move or run. She dared to turn and look at the man's face again, only to find his blood-red eyes staring icily at her. Just as she was about to scream, the young man suddenly pulled her into the coffin with incredible speed. The last thing she remembered was feeling how cold his body was before an unnatural sleep overtook her. *** Rose Thiago was an ordinary girl who loved reading dark fantasies but never believed in them. Suddenly, her best friend warned her never to read those kinds of books again if she didn't want to make herself visible to dark creatures or evoke their world. But Rose called her bluff and continued reading them. On a field trip, Rose found herself falling into an endless hole. When she finally hit solid ground, she realized it was no longer familiar. Just as her friend said, she had drawn the dark world to herself. Somehow, she stumbled upon a beautiful man lying inside a coffin. She dared to touch him, only for the supposedly dead man to suddenly hold her hand and disappear with her. In that moment, she came to believe that magical creatures did exist. And she was about to discover that she had the blood of the sun. Two thousand years ago, to survive a dreadful poison, Prince Cassius Levi of the dark world sought refuge in his healing grave, only to awaken when the time for his revenge arrived. What he didn't expect was to be forcefully awakened by an undeserving mortal.
