Part 1:
On April 3rd, 2019, there was a virus outbreak and the cities were besieged with zombies.
A month later, on the national road outside H City, Shen Shian carried a heavy sword and walked around the vehicles abandoned everywhere.
“Don’t make trouble,” he said while turning back. “Keep up, the sky is becoming dark.”
“Yea!” A child who looked to be only four or five years old answered. He slashed the sword in his hand and cut the head of a zombie. Then he reached in and pulled out a marble-sized transparent crystal.
After rubbing it a few times on his clothes, he carried a Tang Sword that was half the height of an adult human and ran to Shen Shian.
“An An, I’ll give it to you!”
Part 2:
Shen Shian picked up a miserable puppy with dirty and knotty fur and a terrible smell.
The first time he brought the dog into the spirit spring, the dog turned into a child.
The second time the child was brought into the spirit spring, he turned into a man.
On the edge of the misty spring, Shen Shian looked at the man swimming and asked with a frown, “Can you change back?”
“Why?”
Shen Shian pursed his lips. “…You will eat too much.”
The man wrapped himself in a bath towel and emerged from the space with the Tang sword. After a short while, he inserted the sword into the grass and handed Shen Shian a handful of sparkling crystals.
“I might eat more but I am also more capable!”

The downside is that there are a few coincidences or plot holes that make the story’s pace feel rushed at times. However, overall, the pacing is just right, and perhaps you can overlook the plot holes.
MC and ML's relationship progresses very slowly. It starts as a dog-and-master dynamic, then shifts to a little-son-and-father scenario (though only Shen Shian sees himself as the father), and later evolves into a possessive-younger-brother-and-his-older-brother relationship.
Regarding ML's transformation, check the spoiler below. Warning!! (Or not)
I'm very much looking forward to seeing ML grow up and become a man. So far, there's still no indication of ML's transformation, even after reading the latest chapter (93).
I love their team-building process, starting with just MC and ML, and then adding six more people, each with their own powers and characteristics. Each member joins the team through different encounters with MC, where MC helps them. As a result, all of them admire and obey MC. It's beautiful!
Sometimes I forget this is an apocalyptic novel because I get too engrossed in the food porn. Still, I love every thrilling scene! It keeps me on the edge of my seat all the time. Often, you worry because it's so hard to tell if a character will survive a zombie attack, making your heart race faster and faster. Then you hit the next chapter button, and another, and another, until you find yourself unable to stop reading!
I love both the main character and the love interest so much. The romance between them is just right—still a slow burn at this point (I’m currently at chapter 80), but not too fast, and I appreciate that. My dear love interest, you've got to stop playing the son card too well, or you might get son-zoned at the end.
Definitely kudos to the translating and editing team! I understand the challenges and the time it takes, and I truly appreciate their effort. Despite the high level of writing by the author, the translation is clear and enjoyable. Thank you so much!
Note: This is just my initial reaction. I plan to come back later, either when the story finishes or when I decide to machine-translate it myself, to give a proper review.

Well, what I like the most is the story, how every event proceeds at a moderate pace but still moves quickly, and everything is detailed enough. I love the main character, who is a bit of a typical "iceberg" type of beautiful/handsome person. However, he’s neither too cold nor too emotional, achieving a perfect balance of sweetness and rationality. I especially appreciate his gentle kindness, which doesn’t allow others to take advantage of him. SOOO I LOVE THIS.
Edit: After reading the machine translations and (obviously) overlooking the grammar and writing, I came to the conclusion that I overestimated the plot due to inexperience. It started quite well (decent, let's say) with a cool and beautiful but still very manly protagonist. Then it just became a typical BL story with a pretty uke and an overpowered gong, filled with useless and illogical decisions and events. The author probably thought their relationship was developing too slowly and started rushing things, creating more chaos and mess, while forgetting the struggle and drama that an apocalyptic background should have.
So, yeah, let’s not waste any more time.
When I first picked up the novel, I thought, "Ooh, the quality of the translation is going to drop," but after reading the released chapters, the quality is still well-maintained.
Good job, Foxaholic! 🦊
