A mafia romance
What happens when two sisters, devout believers, and hardworking citizens fall into a world of drugs, violence, guns, and trafficking?
What happens when they manage to catch the attention of the wrong men?
Charis had always been the polar opposite of her elder sister Charity. While she was tall and brunette her sister was short with a fiery redhead. While she kept her head down and avoided conflict at all costs even when she was at an advantage her sister was outspoken and never let anyone take advantage of her... well anyone but the countless ex-boyfriends that had broken her heart.
It wasn't a surprise to find out Charis had never dated before, a little lamb catching the eye of an interested wolf Sebastian was intrigued by the woman who did everything to avoid him even when she was clearly attracted. But it was short-lived, after she basically ghosted him and then declared it meant nothing that they met as they were reunited by coincidence Sebastian decided to turn his back on her. So what happens when he has to take responsibility for his family business and he finds out he has to marry someone and it was the same woman he once shunned?
Charity thought she did not believe in any love that wasn't God's love until she met Absalom. How could a man that just met her declare with so much confidence that he wanted to marry her? With no reason other than he felt that strongly for her and wanted no one else more? What happens as well when she caves and just decides to YOLO it, what happens when she finds out that he did not just want to marry her because of how he felt? That he wasn't the man she fell in love with and that it was too late to run away?

"Do you think I smuggle women or children?" He asked, the tip of his nose dragging along the expanse of her neck and she bit her lips to stifle a moan. She wasn't even surprised at her reaction, she already knew she was deeply attracted to him, and it was more physical than emotional, wasn't that how he managed to seduce her?
"I hope not, I can barely wrap my-" she sucked in a deep breath as his hands crawled under her dress and with her plans flat against his chest she struggled to push him off of her but he wouldn't budge. "Get off Absalom, get away from me!" She screamed shoving him away "what the hell do you think you are doing?!"
"I could ask you the same thing, what the hell do you think you are doing? Where are you going?"
"Where do you think? Away from you!"
Standing straight he looked down at her with a cold look on his face, his eyes devoid of any emotion, "I'm sorry but I can't let you do that."
"What?" Charity breathed out, "Is this because of what I know, I swear I won't tell a soul, just let me go okay?"
Absalom walked back to her with hesitation in his steps, his large hands wrapping around her small neck, it was obvious a little effort was required to snap it, but he kept his grip strong enough to remind her of his strength and do only that. "I can't do that either, I won't let you go, Charity."

Each of the 14 chapters essentially showcases intimate moments in Nagi and Akira's life. Their relationship has a D/s foundation (a touch of dominance, a hint of humiliation, and some bondage), but that's one of the aspects I appreciate about it. More importantly, the story focuses solely on the two of them, without the abusive elements often seen in bondage hentai. It was simply a sexy little tale with a satisfying conclusion!
The artwork isn't breathtaking, but it effectively conveys the intended message. This might be an older title? The character design has that distinct 90s vibe. However, for me, it didn't detract from the narrative. The facial expressions are charming, and everything fits the scenes appropriately.
Akira and Nagi are fairly two-dimensional characters, but what else can one expect? Despite their simplicity, they're likable, and I genuinely enjoyed following their journey. I found myself rooting for their relationship. Overall, it's a delightful, sexy little series that will leave you smiling.
It's inherently problematic. Take series like Love Hina, Tenchi Muyo, Saber Marionette, Salad Days, Ranma 1/2, and Dragonball. Despite their varied genres and appeal to different audiences, they share a commonality: a dedicated fanbase that appreciates them for what they are. Even if someone doesn't distinguish between shoujo and shonen or focuses solely on storytelling, these series have carved out a niche that sets them apart.
The H genre, however, lacks this same level of respect. Often, it takes a series like Fate/Stay Night to gain praise for its narrative, while ignoring the fact that series such as Co-Ed SeXXtasy offer a more accurate representation of hentai plot depth in the same way Love Hina exemplifies the harem genre.
What distinguishes Co-Ed SeXXtasy among H-manga is its length and conclusion. Fourteen chapters may seem short, but if the story doesn't feel padded with gratuitous content compared to modern H-manga, it deserves recognition alongside longer series like Ranma 1/2 or Dragonball. It successfully maintains character development within its universe without succumbing entirely to genre expectations.
"Filler for flesh" is a tricky concept in the H genre. Similar to escapism in manga and anime, or the concept of moe, there’s a fine line between exaggeration and reduction in storytelling depth. Escapism originally allowed manga and anime to explore deeper themes, while moe was once seen as a defining characteristic of anime design. Over time, however, these elements evolved into criticisms rather than compliments.
H-manga faces similar issues. The prevalence of explicit scenes makes it difficult to justify many series as "gateway" hentai. Unlike other genres, which can mask shortcomings with original plots, H-manga remains constrained by its sexual content. As the genre evolves, the balance between storyline and titillation shifts, leaving behind series like Co-Ed SeXXtasy, which blend quality storytelling with romance. If the H genre had garnered the same respect in its early days as other genres, Co-Ed SeXXtasy could have been revolutionary, setting a higher standard for quality H-manga.
This isn't an ecchi manga, though it's often marketed as one to attract less hardcore audiences. Yet, it won't satisfy those seeking extreme content either. This middle ground determines whether readers will enjoy the series. Once read, it becomes challenging to objectively rate it, especially when reviews fail to align with their ratings. For instance, Sweeney's review reads more like a synopsis than a critique.
This ambiguity is a persistent issue in H-manga. Nevertheless, I hope my thoughts encourage you to explore this remarkable series, particularly for newcomers to H-manga or those who have only encountered shallow hentai. It serves as an excellent benchmark for hentai across all forms. Encountering this series significantly impacted my perception of H-manga, even if some might argue it wasn't extraordinary compared to other well-regarded H-manga plots.
