"Cali, let go of the knife, remember, life isn't ever so tough that it requires such drastic measures," Blake said, concern etched in his voice. "I've already told you, Blake, I'm not feeling suicidal!" Cali exclaimed, discarding the knife. "Then why did you have it?" he pressed, still worried. Reaching into her other hand, she revealed an apple, explaining, "See, I was just holding the knife because of this apple I wanted to share." --- Meet Cali Evans, a 17-year-old with a quirky personality and a knack for sarcasm. Life was sailing smoothly for her until Blake's unexpected entrance. Blake Sanders, the enigmatic 18-year-old, known as the popular, handsome troublemaker, found a new purpose in his life when he crossed paths with Cali. Their encounter led to a series of misunderstandings, turning mundane moments into laughter-filled food fights, late-night bowling matches, intense conversations on the rooftop, thrilling monopoly games, and perhaps even the spark of something more profound.

As always, such a lovely read. I read this novel about once a year or so. For those disliking the Chinese words, just google them, write the word and blurb down and move on. After a bit you wont need to keep checking. This novel was my first historical one, and since reading it I don't ever google the words anymore. 😆 I highly recommend this to read!
