Rayuwa

In the tranquil town of Rayuwa, an unspoken rule governed their lives. Leaving the island was strictly prohibited, a taboo known by all. An exception was granted only to the Sarki and their kin, who were believed to have been chosen long ago to bear a great responsibility. Legend had it that centuries ago, to save Lafiya and ensure the prosperity of their land and people, the entire Island of Rayuwa and its inhabitants made a sacrifice. Their duty was to appease the deities while nurturing their community's growth. This sacred duty came at a great cost – isolation. Attempts to break free from the island were whispered about, but none succeeded. Tragic endings awaited those brave enough to attempt escape, as their lifeless bodies washed ashore, serving as grim reminders of the island's ironclad rule. Born and raised on the island, Binta's life took a turn when she met and fell in love with Adam. As fate would have it, should she ascend to royalty, the possibility of leaving the island opened up. But for Binta, the true liberation of her fellow Rayuwans became her top priority. Together with Adam, they embarked on a mission to free their people, piecing together their story through the lens of different characters to give the readers a comprehensive understanding of their struggles and motivations.
