Popular Reviews
This story doesn't do anything groundbreaking. The writing is simple, and my jaw was really never on the floor at any moments compared to some of the other higher rated works, so looking back I wonder why I was unable to put this book down.
I think a lot it has do with the pacing. Every chapter has a good sense of progression and the exposition is minimal. It is a slice of life, but there is still a good sense of progression. The fights are short and sweet. Arcs don't overstay their welcome. There is very little character drama, which keeps the focus on the MC and the quick pacing.
This feels like it was written for long term litrpg/cultivation readers who are starting to get sick of the genre. It just feels like a nice break from all the world ending high stakes, lengthy expositions, melodramatic characters, and other things that can drag down this genre sometimes.
