I enjoy this novel as there haven't been many that go about gaining power this way. I would like to think the author doesn't drop this. I've been away for some time hoping this would build up to have over 100 chapters but it only gain 20 or so.

Such was a carnival of gore and despair, indeed. There now flew a stream of crimson wine made of human blood, while lumps of meat lying everywhere that were freshly cut out of the dead ones' flesh. The monster picked up a bloodied limb on the ground, cut off from its owner, and tasted it, munching on its flesh. At such disgusting sight, a soldier, who had been hiding near the monster's flank, screamed and jerked off his hand-cannon's trigger. A laser shot managed to land on the monster's right hand, and made it drop its delicious snack. Yet, this proved to be a rather foolish act-let alone the fact whether it had practically hurt his beastly opponent, for it had well succeeded in drawing the beast's attention to the actor of such folly himself. Soon, his head and upper torso were flying afar, roughly ripped off from where they had belonged. Blood spurted out like a fountain, and the rest of the victim's body collapsed shortly.

Again, Casper began weeping softly. He began looking throughout the room now never losing sight of a shadow lingering where ever he looked. It was a shadow of bunny ears. Casper gulped and looked at everyone before looking back into the darkness. He felt his cheek and whimpered. It was... nothing... He was just a crybaby... He... He... THUMP! Casper jumped. That came from directly behind him! When he looked though, all he saw was a huge shadow in the middle of the hall. It was as if someone stood there, casting it, but Casper saw no one. Again, the ears. Willing up what little courage he had, he began to walk towards the shadow, holding his hand out, trying to feel for something. Then, he felt something. Cold... Damp... Metal... His flashlight lost power and he was in the dark. Frantically he turned it on again to find the shadow gone.

'Ah... It doesn't matter. What is this place?' The angry voice brushes the question off.
