This is a three-star review! The main character (ML) is portrayed as an older, domineering figure (like an emperor), while the female lead (FMC) is depicted as innocent and submissive, akin to a virgin eunuch. Initially, the story seemed incompatible due to these contrasting dynamics. However, the ML eventually redeems himself by改正 his past wrongdoings, leading to a harmonious marriage with the MC.

The reviewer expresses disappointment in learning about the FMC's mistreatment by the emperor in her previous life, and the mention of the emperor's promiscuity adds to the melancholic tone. Overall, the story seems to have a bittersweet resolution.

This is one of my all-time favorite romance novels from NovelUpdates. The author has skillfully depicted the evolution of the relationship between the main characters, starting with awkwardness and indifference, eventually blossoming into a genuine love that feels realistic. I adore their interactions – a delightful blend of humor and sweetness. Initially, the main character (MC) felt uneasy around the male lead (ML) because he resembled her deceased master from her past life, causing her emotional distance. As ML slowly fell for her, MC focused on her work at their company, and ML gradually渗透进她的日常生活, like when he asked to join her on charity trips to rural areas, which led to shared experiences and laughter.

As ML's pursuit intensified, MC began to reconsider her feelings, realizing that尽管他们 shared a face, their personalities were vastly different. She decided to embrace her true self and accept ML as her partner. This turning point marked a new beginning for their relationship, with occasional conflicts due to jealousy and misunderstandings, but they were resolved beautifully, deepening MC's affection for ML.

Each character in the story is well-developed, allowing readers to empathize with their perspectives and motivations. Both MC and ML have distinct personalities, but they handle situations maturely. ML, in particular, exhibits gentlemanly traits, while MC's cool demeanor and resourcefulness are captivating. Even minor characters, though briefly introduced, have relatable backgrounds that evoke sympathy, like ML's cousin whose actions stem from her mother's neglect.

Overall, this novel offers a heartwarming, low-drama romance with a touch of sweetness. The translation is also quite readable, making it an enjoyable choice for those seeking a light-hearted read filled with realistic relationships.

At first, ML presented a cold and aloof demeanor, but as he began courting the protagonist, his genuine affection became evident. He had indeed fallen for her halfway before making her reciprocate. He could be slightly narcissistic and possessed a quirky sense of humor, traits which were passed down to his son. As a child, he developed an attachment to mirrors and had a penchant for singing.

He even revealed, with a hint of pride, that he would have likely been scouted by a talent agency in the music industry if not for his wealth.

The story is highly clichéd and reminiscent of a Mary Sue character, lacking uniqueness compared to other novels. The protagonist's fear or submissiveness to the emperor is a distinguishing aspect, but it's not portrayed consistently – she only displays her eunuch-like behavior when it serves the plot. The author initially had an intriguing concept, but fell short due to weak world-building and one-dimensional characters. While there may be inconsistencies in other transmigration tales, they generally maintain a sense of logic, which this one lacks.

The dynamic between the main character (MC) and the love interest (ML) was intriguing, but the remainder of the story felt somewhat平淡 andfiller-like. Throughout most of the book, it appeared that the MC had a lukewarm attitude towards the ML, tolerating him rather than truly embracing him. This wasn't my preferred reading experience.
