The translation is exceptional, showcasing the translator's dedication to maintaining the natural flow in English while preserving the essence of the original text. It's evident how much effort they've put into crafting a translation that feels authentic and true to the source material.
I give this 10 out of 10 stars without hesitation.
I appreciate how the FL retreats after accidentally overhearing ML's confession. It resonates with me, as she values not wasting his time or emotions. When ML finally confesses, I was in tears – he's so可怜. There are also some heart-wrenching moments, which made me cry again, but ultimately left me content.
The ending, a concise three words, left me speechless, yet it perfectly suited the situation. A word of advice: if you're planning to win someone over using Google, first read other reviews to avoid an embarrassing mishap, like what happened to ML and his friend."
In short, the book is delightful, with relatable characters and a well-rounded story that includes unexpected emotional depth. The ending leaves a lasting impression, and the author's storytelling prowess is evident.
She can choose to live her life independently, focusing on her career or enjoying solitude. It's not like I care if she feels nostalgic or oblivious, but it's unnecessary to hurt someone. Ideally, the ML should find a compatible partner who appreciates him for his character, values, and not just his wealth or appearance. A mature and happy ending for everyone would be ideal, where the MC learns from her mistakes and finds love again, possibly with someone who suits her better as she grows up.
The ML realizes from the beginning that the MC isn't the original host, but he doesn't display concern or curiosity; he just doesn't care. As the story progresses and he falls in love with the MC, there are moments where he stays awake at night, fearing her sudden disappearance without a trace. His pleadings of "Don't go," "Don't leave me," and "You won't abandon me, right?" tugged at my heartstrings and portrayed his vulnerability and anxiety.
Thankfully, the MC does leave eventually, but it has a happy ending, which brought immense relief – I would have been devastated otherwise. The novel was quite easy to translate from Chinese, and I plan on revisiting it once the translated version is available. Thank you for bringing this gem to our attention!
