"Even a pig can fly if it catches the right wind in 1985 Tokyo. But I? I will be the dragon that commands the storm itself."

A top-tier Wall Street elite is reborn in 1985 Japan and gets dealt a family bankruptcy crisis as a starting hand. How will she fare in this situation?

Saionji Satsuki declares: This is like a max-level character slaughtering newbies in the starting area!

This was the year the Plaza Accord had yet to be signed, and the yen was about to soar. This was the year the prelude to the Bubble Economy had just begun to play, and gold was everywhere. This was the year the future richest man in the world was still writing code in his garage.

Satsuki started by shorting the dollar, amassing billions in her first fortune; she targeted the stock market, exiting unscathed on the eve of the crash, and then bought up all of Japan's real estate; she established the "Saionji Conglomerate," extending her reach into semiconductors, the internet, military industry, pharmaceuticals…

When the bubble burst and all of Japan wailed, the House of Saionji stood at the pinnacle of the world, monopolizing every aspect of Japanese life from birth to death.

Reporter: "Saionji-san, how did you manage to avoid the 'Lost 30 Years'?"

Elegantly picking up her teacup, Satsuki replies: "Because I was the one who took those 30 years."

TL Notes:

Please note that this is a Chinese web novel that starts out in 1985 Japan. For those who may be concerned about Chinese patriotism, as far as I've read (the latest chapter, Chapter 48), there is none. This novel isn't pro-Japan, either. It's simply about the protagonist (Saionji Satsuki) reincarnating into 1985 Japan and capitalizing on the Japanese bubble economy following the Plaza Accord.

The story's setting doesn't strictly follow history. For example, the House of Peers (Kizoku-in) didn't get abolished after World War II, which also means the House of Councillors never got established.

As for those who are concerned about being unable to enjoy the novel because they don't know Japan's history, don't be. I didn't even know about the Plaza Accord when I first read this novel, but it still got me hooked, and I binged all the available chapters within a day. The novel provides "enough" context to give you a good idea of what is going on. I will also try my best to provide additional information (which I will likely source from Google and Wikipedia) in the TL Notes at the bottom of each chapter.
