Nonetheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. The initial 130 chapters are fantastic. Initially, the horror isn't intense, but it gradually escalates. Although the challenges don't seem lethal, they possess their own terrifying plot. Zong Jiu, the main character, is apathetic - not inherently good or bad, but simply going through the experience. His intelligence allows him to showcase his former prowess as a magician, catching the attention of the love interest.
Spoilers follow:
Initially, I believed Zhuge An to be the main love interest (ML), but upon realizing my mistake, it left me heartbroken. I truly adore him.
The main ML, No. 1, is strong, cunning, cold, and charismatic - essentially, the devil. Despite that, Zhuge An captured my affection.
In my opinion, the 'First High School' arc was the most captivating I've read. Set in a school environment, although there's less physical combat, the psychological pressure, bizarre NPCs, and gory plot make it compelling. Characters become dear to the reader.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this novel, even though I haven't finished it. The parts I've read are thrilling, and I believe the rest would be too."
The supporting characters lacked depth. A minor spoiler: Zhuge An, surprisingly, turned out to be the deceased teacher. As for Xu Su, he grated on my nerves. His sole purpose seemed to be weeping uncontrollably due to the loss of his lover, Xu Sen. He relied heavily on the MC and their friendship felt implausible, given their initial encounter in the dungeon where Xu Su was barely noticeable.
There were numerous plot holes too. For instance, in Las Vegas, how did the MC, Zong Jiu, acquire the 20,000 points after the initial 10,000? It was unclear if he traded an S-class item or not. Additionally, the main system's objective was to return to a higher plane, so how did it end up in a lower one? Lastly, the MC's transmigration into the book itself remained unexplained.
The writing was inconsistent, with the author introducing concepts without providing satisfactory explanations. Unfortunately, despite my hope for a compelling ending, the novel failed to deliver and was a waste of my time.
The main character, Zong Jiu, is a brilliant and cunning individual who possesses sufficient self-defense capabilities without becoming overly powerful (OP). This aspect of the story resonated with me; everyone has constraints, even the main love interest (ML), often referred to as No.1.
At the start, the ML, though similar to Zong Jiu, aims to eliminate him due to their contrasting paths, turning them into prophesied foes. However, as the story progresses, their relationship evolves, and the ML's interest shifts from hostility to something more complex, hinting at a deeper connection, which includes a playful desire for a different kind of interaction.
Both characters initially doubt love, but by the midpoint, their unspoken feelings suggest a profound affection. Zong Jiu is the protagonist (shou), while No.1 takes on the role of the antagonist (gong).
The plot involving various instances or game-like challenges is excellently crafted, keeping me engaged throughout – a rare feat for supernatural romance novels, as I usually lose interest quickly. Each instance is well-designed, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the experience without any boredom.
This story is slow-burning, but the build-up is rewarding. Overall, I highly recommend giving it a try. My writing skills might not be the best when it comes to analyzing the narrative structure, but trust me, the book is worth reading!
The Unlimited Flow world offers adventures beyond the designated 'relaxing' periods, with five completed arcs and three instances so far. Although the instances themselves aren't overly extravagant, the overall plot is engaging and well-structured, except for perhaps the third instance, which evoked a strong emotional response from me, causing a sigh.
I am eagerly anticipating the development of the romantic aspect, as there's been a buildup of sexual tension so far, but no romance or intimacy has materialized. I'm looking forward to what's to come.
The love interest, or ML, has a flirtatious nature that adds a touch of humor and overpowered dynamics to the story. I'll refrain from divulging more about ML to preserve the surprise factor.
A few standout arcs that I particularly enjoyed include:
1. **Crazy Circus:** This part features an inversion of roles between humans and animals, along with a unique system-provided prop that keeps the story intriguing.
2. **Judgement Day:** A copy exploring ML's backstory, it also unravels the mystery behind the infinite loop scenario.
Regarding Zhuge An, there's an unexpected plot twist: initially portrayed as a disciple of Guiguzi, it turns out that Zhuge An is none other than the master himself, adding an exciting layer to the narrative. Overall, these elements make the book a captivating read despite the occasional language barriers.
Additionally, I find it hard to swallow that the主角, despite being an albino, experiences none of the typical drawbacks associated with his condition. It feels a bit too convenient for my liking. While I understand that authors often prioritize character attractiveness and OP traits, it still bothers me as a reader.
The plot arcs, while well-written, lack distinctiveness and uniqueness. Some argue that the main character isn't overly powerful, but I'd say he leans towards it. His success seems to come effortlessly, without any real challenge or struggle, which disappoints me as a fan of growth and development.
In conclusion, the novel might appeal to others, but personally, it doesn't resonate with me. If you're looking for a different type of story, you might want to give it a shot, but it's not something I would recommend based on my experience.
