They Made Me Do It

When I was a scrawny little teenager, bullied by the entire football team, no one said a thing

When she rejected me in front of the entire class, and they all laughed, no one said a thing.

When my parents and grandparents died in a deadly plane crash caused by the company's negligence, no one said a thing.

Even then, I never complained, I stayed focused. I graduated from law school and landed a job as an Associate in one of the country's best law firms.

I found a woman undeserving of the life I created for myself and I gave her everything I had to offer, but it wasn't enough.

When I found out she was sleeping with my boss, everyone laughed at me.

They said it was my fault; I wasn't man enough.

Some said I neglected her

Everyone had an excuse for her, but what about me?

It's been so hard, and I have been trying my best, but somehow, it's never enough.

Now, things are different. I have this gift and everyone thinks I should do better.
