When Amy and Jake venture into an eerie cornfield on the outskirts of their small town, they unknowingly awaken something ancient and malevolent—the Watcher. Tall, grinning, and lurking in the shadows, it marks Jake, pulling him into a nightmare of whispers and unseen horrors. Desperate to free him, Amy burns the cursed field, believing she has destroyed it.
But evil never dies so easily.
Months later, a new family—the Holloways—moves into town, unknowingly settling near the burned field. Strange things begin to happen. Corn grows back overnight. Their young daughter speaks to a "tall man" no one else can see. And soon, the whispers return, creeping through their home, twisting reality around them.
As the Watcher tightens its grip, the Holloways fight to escape. But in the end, the field never lets go. One by one, they vanish, swallowed by the thing that has been waiting for them all along.
By morning, the house is empty. The town remains silent. And in the wind, the Watcher still whispers.
*"Shhh."*

Brain Dead Mc to protect plot CheckStupid Coincidences to protect plot CheckPlot Armor CheckTo protect the stupidly designed plot, the author makes MC takes the most stupid decisions. It is one of the worst Chinese Web novels I have ever read. The "Original" structure is somehow interesting, other than that it is rubbish. I read 600 some chapters and I regret terribly. Author forgots what had he wrote in one chapter before, no flow, no cohesion. Fence Sitters are brain deader than the Mc. They talk rubbish to show Mc strong, cool and intersting, but in reality Mc is just that. Read with caution.0 0 Reply

No researching at all. The Author give numerous misinformation both in term of geography and history. Plots have so many hole in it while rationality in the novel is minimal. It is becoming much more racist in the upcoming chapters and turning into something disgustingly awful.0 0 Reply

This story would be an absolute gem if the author kept the story in third person. using dialogue between characters for character and plot development. Needs a proofreader and editor to help fix grammar writing style consistency .0 0 Reply
